On Friday, August 16, Heather Locklear was ordered to complete a 30-day mental health treatment program at a residential facility as part of her sentencing for her alleged assault of an EMT and deputies stemming from a June 2018 arrest, In Touch can confirm.

Locklear, 57,  pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor counts, which includes five counts of battery on a peace officer, one count of battery on an emergency personnel, and two counts of resisting arrest, according to Ventura County District Attorney prosecutors.

The Melrose Place alum was not present at her hearing, but her attorneys entered her plea on her behalf. The judge originally sentenced Locklear to 120 days in jail, but that sentence was placed on hold pending the successful completion of a residential treatment program, Senior Deputy District Attorney Thomas Dunlevy told In Touch.

Locklear must follow the terms of her sentence, and she will also be placed on three years probation, according to Dunlevy. Under those terms, Locklear cannot consume alcohol, take non-prescription medication, or possess dangerous or deadly weapons.

“The People advocated for 90 days in jail to be imposed rather than stayed, but I respect the judge’s decision in terms of the sentenced imposed,” Dunlevy said after the hearing. “If she does not comply with the program and the terms of her probation, then the 120 days would be imposed.” Locklear is due back in court on September 6, where her attorneys will share an update on her status with the court.

Locklear’s sentencing stemmed from her June 2018 arrest, in which she was charged with one count of interfering with a law enforcement officer and two counts of battery. At the time, a family member called the police because Locklear was allegedly “extremely intoxicated,” a spokesperson for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told Us Weekly at the time. When police intervened, Locklear was allegedly “very uncooperative” with them. As she was being placed on a stretcher, she allegedly punched a deputy and kicked an EMT, which led to her arrest.
