Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Welcome 1st Child Together: ‘Proud to Call Her Mine’

From model to mom! Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik welcomed their first child together, a baby girl. The “Dusk Till Dawn” singer announced their little one’s arrival in a tweet on Wednesday, September 23. 

“Our baby girl is here, healthy and beautiful. To try put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine and thankful for the life we will have together x,” the new dad wrote.

Life & Style confirmed in April that the Los Angeles native, 25, was pregnant. She and the former One Direction member, 27, couldn’t wait to see what their little one looked like, a source exclusively told Life & Style four months later.

“Bella [Hadid] and Gigi recently went through all their old baby photos, and some of Zayn’s too, trying to figure it out!” the insider said at the time, noting that Bella, 23, knew the infant would be “stunning” no matter what. “Bella is counting down the days until she becomes an aunt.” 

As for Gigi’s parents, Yolanda Hadid and Mohamed Hadid, the former couple were “so excited” to welcome their granddaughter.

While the real estate developer, 71, couldn’t “stop gushing to his friends” about his eldest daughter’s pregnancy news, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 56, kept “sending her baby essentials, like bottles, bibs and onesies,” a second source exclusively told Life & Style in July.

The Bravo personality was the first member of Gigi’s family to open up about her pregnancy. “Of course we are so excited,” Yolanda told Dutch publication RTL Boulevard in April. “I’m excited to become an Oma in September especially after I lost my mom, [Ans van den Herik], so recently. But this is the beauty of life, one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed.”

While celebrating Mother’s Day the following month, Gigi shared her hopes to mimic her mom’s parenting style via Instagram. “Best I could ever ask for,” the then-pregnant star captioned a throwback photo in May. “Happy Mother’s Day to the one I’ll do my best to emulate. I love you beyond words @yolanda.hadid you are a superhero!!!!!”

She and Malik were first romantically linked in 2015 but broke up in June of the following year. After a brief reunion, they split again in January 2019. The on-again, off-again couple sparked reconciliation rumors at the end of that same year, and a source confirmed to Life & Style in January that they were back together.
