What’s love got to do with it? Kate Gosselin‘s new show, Kate Plus Date, may be all about her journey to find love, but a source close to the reality star says she may not actually be all that interested in it. In wake of the TLC‘s show’s premiere, Radar Online has learned that the former Kate Plus 8 star is taking a page out of every Bachelor and Bachelorette villains’ playbook. Apparently, the mom of eight just ~isn’t there for the right reasons.~

“The main reason Kate did this new show wasn’t romance,” the insider told Radar. “[It] was money and getting back on TV.” And though the 44-year-old star may be open to finding love again so long after her split with ex Jon Gosselin, she’s not willing to go out of her way. “Kate isn’t easy,” the source continued. “She is one tough cookie and really isn’t interested in compromising or finding love. … All she really cares about is Kate!”

That doesn’t mean that the show won’t make for incredible entertainment, though. Kate has already spilled the beans on at least one spoiler, promising some serious hilarity on the series. Apparently, the reality star’s older daughters, Mady and Cara, have their own roles to play on Kate Plus Date — and they’ve been cracking their mom up. “[Mady’s] commentary constantly made me laugh so hard I cried when I watched!” the TLC star revealed. “AND she is always RIGHT about me, too?!!! How???”

Lately, the star has seemed especially close with her kids despite the fact that son Collin and daughter Hannah live with their dad. Though the sextuplets are still only 15, Kate is already stressing over the idea of them going away for college. Apparently, her daughter Alexis is the only one who can handle the family’s pet bird, Zorro. “When Alexis goes to college, seriously, I don’t know what I’ll do!” the mom admitted. “He lets me hold him only if Alexis brings him TO me. A fickle little guy …. but I love him so much!” Well, at least we know that if Kate doesn’t find love on Plus Date, she’ll always have Zorro.
