Derick Dillard Shares a PDA-Packed Birthday Tribute to His “Wifey” Jill Duggar
Happy Birthday, Jill Duggar! The former Counting On star turns the big 2-7 today, and in honor of her special day, her husband, Derick Dillard, took to Instagram to post a sweet tribute. "Happy birthday to my wifey @jillmdillard! God has blessed me beyond measure to give me you as a wife and as a mother to our boys," he wrote. The last time the reality TV exile wrote "wifey" in a caption, he received backlash from commenters who felt the word was "derogatory." "Of course he is ignorant enough to refer to his life partner and mother of his children as 'wifey,'" one person began. "It is NOT a term of endearment. People need to use a damn dictionary. He's a sexist, misogynistic pig who feels entitled to treat his wife like an object. Make your own damn pre-marathon food; it's not like you have anything better to do." Another added, "Wifey is a derogatory term to some. May want to look that up." A third chimed in, "Never say the word 'wifey' like that ever again."
Unfortunately, birthday girl has gotten herself into hot water these days, too. Recently, mommy shamers reprimanded the reality TV alum for Instagramming her messy house. One person wrote, "A good mom's house looks like you teach them to clean up when they are done. It isn't that hard actually. I have taught many kids over the years, when you are done you put it away." Another added, "Get off your lazy boy and pick up your house." You can't please everyone!
Oh, and just days before Jill's birthday, her controversial hubby took to Instagram to post a picture with their son Israel, 3, playing with blocks. He captioned the photo, "Israel helping Trump build 'The Wall,'" and added "LOL" because apparently, teaching racism to a toddler is hilarious. Sigh. Drama aside, we hope Jill rings in her 27th with plenty of non-alcoholic beverages, chocolate mess, and pants. And hopefully no homophobic tweets.
