Who’s uninvolved? Kailyn Lowry’s ex, Chris Lopez, proved that he’s in contact with son Lux Lowry after the Teen Mom 2 star put him on blast for not reaching out about their newborn son, Romello Creed. On Tuesday, September 1, the father of two shared a screenshot from a FaceTime call with his older son on his Instagram Story.

“My dawg [for life],” Chris, 26, captioned the shot. He also added a heart, the 100 emoji and a crossed fingers emoji to show just how tight they are. In the picture, the father and son could be seen beaming at each other as they bonded.

Just a few days earlier, Kail, 28, revealed on her own Instagram Story that she was “tired” of trying to keep her ex updated with pictures and videos of their second son, who she gave birth to on July 30. In addition to claiming that she “doesn’t remember the last time she heard from” Chris, she wrote, “It is EXHAUSTING to try to get someone to want to be involved. … If they wanted to know, they would ask. If they wanted to be there, they would. You will drain yourself trying to make them want to be a father.”

It seems the dad may have simply found another way to check in on his kids, however. Instead of going through Kail, he waited until his sister was visiting her nephews to chat with Lux, 3. On her Story on September 1, the Hustle and Heart author revealed the little boys’ aunt was the one holding the toddler during the video call.

Though Kail extended an olive branch and invited Chris to be in the delivery room when she gave birth to Creed, 1 month, the parents appear to be back on bad terms. In the weeks since their reunion, the mom of four has thrown more than a little shade her ex’s way. On social media, she’s posted about dropping people from her life and needing tips to coparent with a “narcissist.”

Chris may be done with Kail, too. On August 31, he shared some cryptic messages of his own. “Once [you] let … somebody like me detach themselves from [you], you either never get me back or never get the same version of me back,” read one. “I stick it out [with] folks ‘til I’m beyond fed up. So when it’s wraps, it’s wraps.”
