Earlier this week, Chris Watts was sentenced to life in prison for the grisly murders of his wife and two young daughters. As a mother herself, Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska took to Twitter following the news to share her reaction.

“This story has just been so sad to follow… glad this guy is going away forever,” the mother-of-three tweeted on Nov. 19. “His poor wife, daughters, and unborn baby.”

Someone quickly commented on Chelsea’s post and agreed, “I honestly was in disbelief when he tried blaming his WIFE. True psychopath,” to which she responded, “So SO sick.”

The Colorado dad was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the deaths of Shan’ann, 34, and their daughters Bella, 4 and Celeste, 3, after their bodies were found on an oil site owned by the company Chris worked for. Shan’ann was also 15 weeks pregnant with a boy, who her family said would have been named Nico.

Although Chris eventually agreed to plead guilty, there was reportedly a bunch of “yelling and crying” before he came to that conclusion. A source told People that with the help of his lawyers, the 33-year-old realized he didn’t really have any other choice.

“Their evidence against him was overwhelming,” the source told the outlet of Chris. “There was some yelling and some crying, but eventually he acknowledged that his life was over after he killed Shan’ann. He would have been facing years of legal challenges, and best-case scenario he would have been acquitted. Worst-case scenario, he gets put to death.”

Chris was sentenced to three life sentences without the possibility of parole, but a former neighbor of the father-of-two wished he received a harsher punishment.

Cheryl Hallowell, who lived just two doors down from Chris in Frederick, CO, told Radar Online, “I just wish we had the death penalty,” she said. “I hope somebody kills him in prison. It’s just wasted space. This guy killed kids, he was just really bad. Nobody understands why he had to kill them.”
