Was Nova Baltierra exposed to a predator? Catelynn Baltierra (née Lowell) opened up about a scare she and husband Tyler Baltierra recently faced after sending their older daughter to a child care facility. On Tuesday, August 11, the Teen Mom OG star claimed a registered sex offender may have had access to her daughter.

Sharing an Instagram album full of screenshots about the daycare and a man on the sex offender registry, Cate, 28, wrote, “I am ABSOLUTELY disgusted!!! PLEASE if you have kids that go here, PLEASE remove them!!! #saveourchildren.” On Thursday, August 13, she went into more detail on Instagram Live and during an interview with Celeb Magazine.

“I found out three days ago that [the] husband [of the woman who ran the daycare] was on the sex offenders list for doing something to his step-daughter,” Cate claimed. “We started looking for a school when Nova was two years old to get her to interact with kids her age, learn to share, make friends, etc. … [This facility] had a really good star rating.”

She and Tyler, 28, met with the owner and decided that “all seemed well.” However, the woman didn’t disclose that her husband was allegedly on the sex offender registry for attempted “criminal sexual conduct” by “force or coercion” in the fourth degree, which is a misdemeanor. Nova only attended for “a few months” two years ago, but the couple only recently came across the husband’s alleged record, as well as accusations that he was around and alone with children at the daycare.

“I showed Nova a picture of [him], asking if she had ever seen this man, and she told me no,” Cate said. “I asked her five different times … because what if he touched my child? Because it all came out how he’s been at the daycare and has also taken kids by himself on their ‘nature trail.’ … It’s all so disgusting and disturbing.”

The MTV mama urged parents to do “extra checking” when it comes to their children’s daycare centers and schools. “Do your due diligence when looking for childcare for your children,” she said. “Run background checks on them. Talk to some workers that work there. Find other parents of kids that go there and talk to those parents. Just check and double-check. You can never be too safe when it comes to your children.”
