Her dad has her back! Season 7 of Teen Mom OG was a rough one for Catelynn Lowell as fans watched her hit rock bottom in her battle with mental illness. After experiencing a heartbreaking miscarriage, Cate was having suicidal thoughts and she immediately checked into a rehab program. Even though Cate took proactive steps to get help for her mental illnesses, fans have continued to bash her online — and her dad David Lowell recently came to her defense, slaying trolls and sending his daughter some sweet words of encouragement.

"The wolf doesn’t care about the opinions of sheep. Your family are [sic] all extremely happy that you’re home, happy, healthy, and took the steps to overcome what is commonly underestimated — mental health," her dad wrote in a comment of one of Cate's recent Instagram posts. "It can be harder to beat than alcohol, drug addiction, but doesn’t get the awareness it deserves. We all love you Catelynn. I’m very proud of you kiddo."

Of course, fans still continued to troll Cate after her dad's heartfelt comment, and fans said Cate shouldn't be compared to a wolf because she isn't a "leader" like the way a wolf leads a pack. "Just goes to show, you know nothing about Cate," David clapped back. "She's helped more people in one year than you'll have in your whole life story. That's a leader dear."

Get 'em, dad! It's so nice to see Cate's father offer her support and defend her in such a public way, especially because they spent a lot of time apart. David lived in Florida for a while where he took care of Cate's brother River, who is paralyzed. But it seems like David and Cate have been getting closer ever since he moved back to Michigan to be closer to Cate, her husband Tyler Baltierra, and their daughter Nova. Watch the video below for an update on Cate's mental health!
