It looks like Bristol Palin  and Dakota Meyer have been filming for Teen Mom OG longer than we thought! Though we just learned of their divorce in August, a new trailer for TMOG on Sept. 10 proves that we’re going to watch their marriage unravel on TV.

The new trailer is the first look we’ve gotten of Bristol on the show, and they describe her as “America’s most famous Teen Mom.” We all remember that from when Sarah Palin was running for VP with John McCain, and yes, Sarah will be on the show (we spy her in the trailer too.)

Bristol explains that her husband has been “struggling with PTSD” from his days as a soldier, and that they “don’t know how to coexist together.” “I don’t want to raise my kids to think that this is what a marriage looks like,” she continued.

Bristol first shockingly revealed on Aug. 1 that she and her baby daddy were already divorced in an Instagram Q&A. On Aug. 7, her ex-husband did his own Instagram Stories press release, explaining why they decided to split.

When a fan asked if they were actually divorced or just separated, Dakota insisted they’re “happily divorced.” When asked why, he made it sound like it’s what Bristol wanted, writing, “She wasn’t happy with me so it’s for the best.” But it sounds like he’s way happier since their split, saying he’s “probably the happiest man on the face of the planet.” He also said “hell no” when asked if he would ever marry again.

When a fan asked him for divorce advice, he said, “Take it one day at a time and focus on you. You can try and give the person all you have and if they don’t choose to see the good in you, it’s out of your control. Know when enough is enough.” He also showed off a bare hand, proving that he no longer wears his wedding ring.

His Instagram Q&A came just one week after Bristol’s. Despite saying that people asking if she’s married is the most annoying question she gets, she set the record straight admitting that she isn’t. You can see more of her responses in the video above.

Dakota’s lawyer confirmed the divorce on Thursday, August 2, in a statement to RadarOnline — and even revealed the former couple are sharing 50/50 custody of their children. “Mr. Meyer is pleased that the parties have amicably resolved their divorce,” attorney Michael Burnett told the outlet. “Although he is disappointed that he and his wife were unable to make their marriage work, he is pleased that he has an equal possession schedule with their children and that their children will continue to reside in Texas where he lives.” During his Q&A, he explained that they share the kids “one week on, one week off.”

Bristol did file for divorce in early 2018 — nine months after welcoming their second baby together — but cozy Instagram photos had lead fans to believe that they had reunited. Sadly it appears they were unable to mend their relationship, but at least they seem to be coparenting very well.

The original shocking news sparked many more questions about the split from her followers. When one said they’re sorry to hear about it, she said, “nothing to be sorry about a divorce — it’s life! God cleans our slates, forgives our sins, and covers us with his grace. Life is good! My kids are happy and healthy and that’s all I can ask for.”

However, it does seem like she’s still slightly concerned about money. When a fan asked if she’s ever has anxiety about how she’s do it all, she said “it’s going to be a humbling experience.” We wish her the best, and can’t wait to watch it all unfold on Teen Mom OG
