In a wild twist literally no one saw coming, Farrah Abraham has been replaced on Teen Mom OG by none other than former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol Palin. Bristol confirmed the news on July 20 with a behind-the-scenes photo wth her kids and cameramen.

"I am excited to join MTV's Teen Mom OG," she wrote in the caption of the pic, which also shows her three kids Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, 9, Sailor Grace Meyer, 2, and Atlee Bay Meyer, 1. "I look forward to sharing my experiences and hope that I can help others on their journey."

The news first broke one day earlier, and while Bristol isn't from the Teen Mom universe, she's kind of a perfect choice to join the show. First of all, we're familiar with who she is, which adds a level of interest that an unknown addition might not stir up. Second, she did get pregnant when she was a teenager. Bristol was just 18 years old when she concieved her oldest son with her boyfriend Levi Johnston.

On top of that, she's no stranger to reality TV. Bristol competed on the Fall 2010 season of Dancing with the Stars and came in third, and then she had her own reality show called Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp on lifetime in 2012 that lasted one season.

Her personal life provides more than enough content as well; it's chock full of the drama Teen Mom fans thrive on. First she got pregnant as a teen while her mom was on the campaign trail. Then she broke off her engagement with Levi and started a lengthy custody battle in 2009. One year later, the couple reunited and got re-engaged, only to call it off again. Shockingly, she got engaged to a solder named Dakota Meyer in 2015 which was later cancelled before she announced that they were expecting her second child together. Eventually she did get married to Dakota and have a third baby. They filed for divorce breifly, but it seems like they're back together now. Like we said, it's kind of perfect.

Bristol may not be the only new addition to the show. There has also been speculation about former TM3 star Mackenzie McKee would join, and The Challenge star Cheyenne Floyd shared proof that her family may be hitting small screen too. One thing's for sure: next season is going to be lit!
