Duggar Drama! Ben Seewald Seemingly Shades the Dillard Family and Fans Are Like YAS
Drama alert! For the most part, the Duggars all seem to get along with their in-laws — with the exception of one black sheep: Derick Dillard. The Twitter-loving, homophobic husband of Jill Duggar is being ousted by his famous family, one member at a time. Most recently, Ben Seewald — Jessa‘s hubby — seemingly threw shade at the Dillards, and fans are living for it. Watch the video above to see the tweet!
Unfortunately for the former Counting On star, this is hardly the first time someone passive-aggressively slammed him. Jinger Duggar took to Instagram in April to share a photo of herself holding a book called, She’s Got the Wrong Guy: Why Smart Women Settle. Ouch.
It should be noted that the post came just two days after Derick shared his unwarranted comments about Nate & Jeremiah by Design stars Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent. “What a travesty of family,” he wrote on a promo for the home improvement show. “It’s sad how blatant the liberal agenda is, such that it both highlights and celebrates a lifestyle so degrading to children on public television as if it should be normal.” Ugh.
Back in November, the 29-year-old was given the boot for his comments about fellow TLC star, Jazz Jennings. “What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality,” he wrote in response to a tweet promoting I Am Jazz. “‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God.”
He later claimed that he harbored no ill will toward Jazz — even though he referred to her using the wrong pronoun. “I want to be clear. I have nothing against him. I only have [an] issue with the words and definitions being propagated here,” he tweeted.
After all that went down, Derick started to lose followers on social media — one of them being Ben. An eagle-eyed fan wrote on reddit, “The shunning begins… the Bates family have unfollowed Jill and Derick. Individual accounts unfollowing just Derick, meanwhile Ben unfollowed him, who’s next?” Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if others soon joined him — like rebel couple Jinge and Jeremy. Only time will tell!
