Azealia Banks Accuses Cardi B of Stealing Her Look: ‘You Make Everything Look So Cheap and Dirty’
Shots fired, again! Azealia Banks accused Cardi B of stealing her look on Sunday, August 25, in a vicious Instagram post. Although the 28-year-old is confident she wore it better, she had some choice words for Cardi, 26, and completely dragged her in her caption for wearing a similar Vintage Jean Paul Gaultier Fall ’95 dress to the Hustlers photo call in Beverly Hills.
“@iamcardib LOL sis you make everything look so cheap and dirty. #jeanpaulgaultier #thirstbucket LOL, funnily enough, I’ve found at least six Atlantic records employees following me and am sure her team scours my account for inspiration,” Azealia wrote, accusing the “I Like It” rapper of having her staff find inspo for her looks on her page.
She also continued to dis Cardi by telling the executives at Atlantic Records that she would be a better asset to their team. “LMFAO … tell Craig Kallman to call me. Lose the chicken dinner and get with the winner. In fact … I may actually consider this. Azealia (Mermaid), Atlantic (Ocean)😈 LOL … could be very magical,” Azealia added.
Azealia went on to post a slide show comparing her outfit to Cardi’s. Despite the shade being thrown her way, Cardi didn’t seem to care — the Hustlers star continued to post several videos of herself wearing the outfit and cozying up to her man, Offset, in her Instagram Story.
This is not the first time the two female rappers have quarreled on social media. Back in May of 2018, Azealia called out the former Love & Hip Hop star on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. Previously calling Cardi an “illiterate untalented rat,” she said her disdain for the artist stemmed from her wild antics that, in Azealia’s eyes, perpetuate negative stereotypes of black women.
The then-pregnant rapper hit back on Instagram writing, “A woman who constantly finds joy in belittling black women (Beyoncé, Rihanna, Skai Jackson, Remy Ma) can’t try and stand for them because it’s convenient!” Cardi added, “The difference between me and you, I’ve never pretended to be or represent someone I’m not!” After the exchange, she went on to temporarily delete her Instagram and Twitter writing. “I’m tired of the bulls–t. I need to enjoy my pregnancy, family, new projects, and my partner. Listen to Invasion of Privacy.”
At this time, Cardi has not responded to Azealia’s hard digs — but we all know Cardi will have something to say sooner or later.
