Angelina Jolie Looks Happy With 5 of Her Kids at 'Maleficent' Premiere

One big happy family! Angelina Jolie brought five out of her six kids to the premiere of her new movie, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, September 30. The 44-year-old looked like she was having the time of her life with her kiddos as she posed with them on the red carpet. Unfortunately, Angelina’s oldest son, Maddox, 18, was not able to attend the event since he is currently studying at Yonsei University in Incheon, South Korea. However, his siblings — Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Vivienne and Knox, both 11 — looked like they were having a blast, despite Maddox’s absence.

This isn’t the first time the California native has brought her brood to a big event, either. In February, the Hollywood A-lister brought some of her kids to the premiere of Prune Nourry’s Serendipity documentary, and in March, she attended the Dumbo world premiere with them as well.

Clearly, the Jolie-Pitt crew is used to being in the spotlight, but the mom of six seems to have a handle on the whole situation. “The good thing, I think, is I’ve wanted them to be exposed to it all,” she told Extra on Sunday, September 29. “It’s part of their life, but it’s not important to them and a center of their lives in a way that’s unhealthy, so it’s all fun.”

Even though Angie is a celebrity, it seems like she just loves to be with her family. “You have to go through everything — everything leads to something else, and it’s you,” she explained. “Hang on. That’s what I would say to my younger self. Just, ‘Hang on. You’re gonna love being a mom.’”

The Oscar winner recently revealed what it’s like to raise teenagers — whom she shares with ex Brad Pitt. “When your children are little, you feel more ‘mommy,’” she told HELLO! magazine in an interview published on September 9. “When they are teenagers, you start to remember yourself as a teenager. You see them going to punk clubs, and you wonder why you can’t go. I’m in this fun moment where I’m rediscovering myself.”

Moving on

Even though Maddox is no longer living at home, it seems like Angie couldn’t be happier that he is starting his next chapter in life. “She’s so proud of Maddox,” a source told In Touch at the time. “She initially thought he might want to stay in Los Angeles and get into movies and animation. Angie laid out a path for Maddox and a love of Asia, but she never thought he’d continue his studies in South Korea, let alone go to college there and study biochemistry. She couldn’t be more proud of him.”

Family Issues

However, the 55-year-old Fight Club alum did not help Maddox move his stuff into his dorm. In a video interview exclusively obtained by In Touch, the cameraman asked the college freshman if his famous father would be coming to campus any time soon. “Um, I don’t know about that … what’s happening,” he said. “Whatever happens, happens.”

Despite the drama, Angie just wants to be the best role model for her tots. “It’s important to be humble — know the freedoms you have and what you’ve been blessed with and make sure you help others,” she said. “And always remember your place — we’re all human and flawed. We’re tiny pieces in a much bigger world.”
