She’s back! Angelina Jolie returned to California on Thursday, August 22, just a few days after she dropped off her oldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, at college in South Korea. The actress spent the night with her son Pax Jolie-Pitt as they dined at a sushi restaurant together in West Hollywood. Scroll through the gallery below to see more photos from Angelina’s outing.
The 44-year-old wore a trench coat with white pants along with a brown bag during dinner while Pax sported a dark blue sweatshirt with jeans. It seemed like the two enjoyed each other’s company during their time together.

See Ya Later!
It seems like the Angelina and Brad Pitt’s five other kids — Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Knox and Vivienne, both 11 — are going to have to get used to life without Maddox. “Pax probably took it the hardest, but he’s tough and doesn’t cry. All the other kids got teary-eyed. They’re all going to miss their oldest brother, who’s always been kind and a very calming presence, even when he was little.”

Supportive Mama
At the end of the day, the Maleficent actress is supportive of her kiddo’s new adventure. “She’s so proud of Maddox,” the insider added. “She initially thought he might want to stay in Los Angeles and get into movies and animation. Angie laid out a path for Maddox and a love of Asia, but she never thought he’d continue his studies in South Korea, let alone go to college there and study biochemistry. She couldn’t be more proud of him.”

Where’s Dad?
But where was Brad, 55? Apparently, the handsome actor was not invited to help Angie bring Maddox to school. “Brad won’t be going,” a source told Us Weekly. They also noted that the Fight Club alum was the last to learn about his son’s decision to attend the university in Asia before the news went public. “Brad hasn’t been spending much time with Maddox lately,” another insider added.
