Relationships take work — but 90 Day Fiancé star Kalani Faagata hinted her relationship with Asuelu Pulaa can be especially “hard” after their recent fight on Happily Ever After. Following the Sunday, July 5, episode, the reality star responded to a fan’s comment on Instagram discussing the state of her marriage.

“Sobbing for you in tonight’s episode,” the commenter wrote. “Relationships are so hard. I just feel all the fellow mama emotions for you, Kalani.” The mother of two clearly appreciated the sentiment, writing back, “Thank you for saying that in a positive way. Sending you lots of love.”

Kalani, 32, and Asuelu, 24, faced off on the TLC series as they attempted to celebrate their son Oliver’s birthday. The couple have had their fair share of issues in the past when it comes to agreeing how to raise their children — and the role that each parent plays in doing so — but things came to a head during a family trip to California. When the Samoa native argued that caring for their kids was a woman’s job, he and his wife ended up in an explosive fight.

After claiming that Kalani has it easy taking care of the kids, he called her a “lying bitch” for saying he doesn’t help. He also said her voice is “so f–king annoying,” prompting Asuelu’s mother-in-law to step in and defend her daughter. Eventually, the situation escalated to the point that the father of two left the rental home where they were staying for the trip and hopped on a bus back to their home in Utah.

The couple share two kids, Oliver and their younger son, Kennedy. Though they seem to still be going strong based off their social media posts — Asuelu wished Kalani a happy birthday on July 2 — their relationship is rocky in the show. They had a similar fight during the season 5 premiere of Happily Ever After when they clashed over the dad using his free time to play video games and volleyball with his American friends instead of helping look after his children.

“I 100 percent support Asuelu having a social life, but the thing is, if you’re not contributing to your household, you don’t get the right to then just leave for hours at a time. Where’s my break?” Kalani vented on the show. “If Asuelu refuses to change, I don’t know if I can keep doing this anymore.”

It sounds like the mama may be at her breaking point.
