90 Day Fiance’s Varya Comes Face to Face With Geoffrey’s New Girlfriend Mary After Surprise Visit
Plot twist! 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Varya Malina surprised her long-distance ex-boyfriend, Geoffrey Paschel, by traveling to his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee from her native Russia. But there’s one catch: after Varya declined Geoffrey’s proposal, he quickly moved on and started dating longtime friend Mary — and Varya came face to face with Mary when she arrived unannounced at Geoffrey’s house.
During the Sunday, May 17 episode, Geoffrey, 41, revealed he was done with Varya and considered them broken up after they said goodbye at the airport in Russia. But Varya, 30, wanted to work on their relationship even though she told Geoffrey she wasn’t ready to get married yet after he proposed to her during their trip — and he repeatedly ignored her messages begging for another chance. Since arriving back in the United States, Geoffrey started dating his longtime girl friend, Mary. He assured her that he was completely moving on from Varya — and in the following scene, fans watched as Varya arrived at the airport in Knoxville.
“Surprise!” she said in her confessional. “My tourist visa got approved and I wanted to do a surprise for Geoffrey. I want to get Geoffrey back but he’s not [responding to] my messages. So I didn’t tell him that I’m coming.”
Varya explained that this was her first trip to the U.S., and she planned to visit for two weeks while she tried to win Geoffrey back after she hesitated to accept his proposal because of his criminal background. “I still have feelings for Geoffrey and I have a purpose to prove that my intentions are serious. I don’t care about his past anymore or what my family thinks. I’m here for Geoffrey. I love him a lot. Tomorrow morning, I will do all my best to be drop-dead gorgeous to come to Geoffrey’s house,” she said.
When producers asked what she thinks Geoffrey will say when she shows up at his home, Varya said: “Oh my God! Where is my ring!”
Once she settled into her hotel, she explained she only booked the room for one night because she assumed Geoffrey would invite her to spend the rest of her vacation with him at his house. She said she was still very much in love with him and she hoped he would propose to her again.
The next day, Varya admitted she was nervous as she did her hair and makeup to surprise Geoffrey. Once she was ready, she packed up all her belongings and headed over to Geoffrey’s house in a taxi.
When she arrived, she walked through his open gate and rang his doorbell. Geoffrey answered the doors and his face looked completely shocked. “Oh my gosh,” he said as Varya wrapped her arms around him. “What are you doing?” he asked. “I came here for you! It’s a surprise!” she said excitedly. “I’m really surprised actually,” he said.
But at that moment, a woman’s voice could be heard from inside his home. “What’s going on?” the woman asked. Cameras then focused on the woman — revealing it was Geoffrey’s new girlfriend, Mary. Even though fans will have to wait until next week to see what happens next, it seems like Mary and Varya exchange some heated words as they face off over Geoffrey.
