With Riverdale Season 2 inching closer to the highly anticipated on-air season finale, fans are wondering when they’ll be able to catch the series on Netflix. After all, some of us enjoy binge-watching without commercial interruptions. Ahem, The CW on Demand. Originally, it was reported that Riverdale would be released to Netflix the Friday following a new (Wednesday night) episode. Unfortunately, that didn’t end up happening.

With 22 episodes — nine more than the first season — the second season of the teen drama would be the perfect weekend pick-me-up. Question is, when is Riverdale Season 2 actually coming to everyone’s favorite streaming service? While an exact date has yet to be provided, Netflix did confirm that the series is among the new titles being added in May.

Permitting The CW and Netflix still share the same agreement — shows on The CW head to Netflix just eight days after the air date of their season finale — then we should anticipate Riverdale hitting The ‘Flix on Thursday, May 24. How exciting!

If you have yet to start watching Season 2, brace yourselves! On-and-off-screen couple Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart, who play Jughead and Betty, have already confirmed some of the drama that’s set to go down. In an interview with E! News back in July, the whole cast sat down and spilled some major deets on the upcoming season. They even talked about fan-favorite couple Bughead!

While we’re all shipping Betty and Jughead, apparently it isn’t going to be all that easy for the teens to make it work. “Jughead is going through quite a bit at the end of season one and continues to go through quite a bit throughout season two, and asks if Betty is ride-or-die, you know,” Cole said. “[He] asks Betty how much Lana Del Rey videos she’s been watching, and whether she’s going to hop on the back of that hog.”

Lili even said that the high school sweethearts might mirror one of the most tragic love stories in history. “It’s kind of a Romeo and Juliet situation between the two of them,” Lili said. “There’s a civil war kind of going on in Riverdale, and he’s on the south side, she’s on the north side, and you gotta choose a side basically. It might cause some problems.” So, in case you weren’t already totally hyped for this binge-watch, we’re sure you are now! Is it May 24 yet?!
