Blake Shelton Wins, Carrie Underwood Rocks the House and More — What You Missed at the 2019 CMAs

Country music’s biggest night did not disappoint! Not only did Carrie Underwood perform her hit single “Drinking Alone,” but Halsey and Lady Antebellum brought the house down with the most amazing country/pop mashup at the 2019 Country Music Association Awards.

The star-studded event — which took place in Nashville on Wednesday, November 13 — was one for the books as Garth Brooks won Entertainer of the Year and beat out Keith Urban and Carrie while Kacey Musgraves won Female Vocalist of the Year. Both Blake Shelton and Maren Morris took home awards and thanked their late friend Michael James Ryan, known professionally as “Busbee.”

Blake, 43, said, “I want to dedicate this to Busbee and Earl Thomas Conley who we lost this year,” he said while holding up his award.

“I would be really remiss if I didn’t mention a huge facet of why this album sounds the way it does, and we miss him so dearly,” Maren said in an emotional speech. “He texted me the morning that we got the nomination for Album of the Year this year, and we were so excited. His wife, Jess, is here tonight, and she looks so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your husband with us … my heart just goes out to you and your beautiful daughters. I hope when they listen to this record or any of the songs that he made — that made us all better — they know how amazing their father was.”

However, there was some ~drama~ throughout the night as Blake and his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, skipped the red carpet since they were stuck in traffic. Hmm … were they trying to avoid Blake’s ex Miranda Lambert? Perhaps!

Meanwhile, former Bachelorette star Hannah Brown stunned on the red carpet with her DWTS partner, Alan Bersten. Later on, Kacey brought Gigi Hadid as her date to the lavish affair, where they couldn’t stop taking photos on the red carpet. Hannah and Gigi both were in relationships with Tyler Cameron this past summer — we wonder if they bumped into one another throughout the night.

Well, if you missed any of the night’s biggest moments, we’ve got you covered. Scroll through the gallery below to get caught up.
