It’s Over! Country Icon Reba McEntire and Her Boyfriend Anthony ‘Skeeter’ Lasuzzo Split
It’s the end of a chapter. Reba McEntire and her boyfriend, Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo, have called it quits after two years together. Closer Weekly was the first to break the news.
Even though Reba and Skeeter care about each other very much, her “busy schedule and Skeeter’s way of life — he’s retired — just didn’t mesh very well,” an insider revealed to Closer.
The “Storm In a Shot Glass” singer, 64, and her wildlife photographer ex first crossed paths in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in August 2017, and they were introduced to each other by another country star.
“Kix [Brooks] and Barbara Brooks thought it’d be a good idea, since we were gonna be up around Yellowstone, to get Kix’s best friend’s wife’s brother to show us around. He’s a photographer in Jackson Hole,” Reba previously told Taste of Country.
“I made another trip to Jackson Hole, because I just love it up there, and he asked me out for a date — just the two of us,” the songstress said. “And we’ve been dating ever since.”
Reba and Skeeter grew closer to each other after her public and painful divorce from Narvel Blackstock in 2015. The country icon and her husband were married for 26 years before they decided to part ways. As far as her recent ex goes, Skeeter fathered four children with his late wife, Marolyn Tyler Lasuzzo, before she passed away in 2013.
Skeeter and Reba hit it off from the moment they first met and they seemed to be a great couple with their similar interests. They have vacationed to South Africa, Italy as well as Iceland. The pair also made red carpet appearances while together.
In April 2019, Reba revealed that she was completely head over heels for the retired oil geologist. “We’re totally in love — absolutely,” she told PEOPLE. “I wouldn’t put up with somebody for two years if I wasn’t in love with ’em!”
Reba and her ex have made their long-distance relationship work up until this point. She resides in Nashville, while Skeeter has a home in both Texas and Wyoming. When she spent time at his Texas abode, it was only a short drive from where her family lives in Oklahoma, so they would often pay her relatives a visit. “[We] go up and see my momma,” Reba shared.
At least they made some great memories together before parting ways.
