Don’t get it twisted! Cory Wharton celebrated his 28th birthday on March 5, and fans couldn’t help but notice that he spent some quality time with his former flame, Cheyenne Floyd. It didn’t take long for the Teen Mom OG star to be questioned about why he was hanging out with his baby mama instead of his new girlfriend, Taylor Selfridge. Cory posted a photo including his daughter, Ryder, while celebrating his birthday on March 5. “28. Just want to say thank you for all the birthday wishes I appreciate it. Best way to start the day with my little princess,” he captioned the heartwarming snap.

The MTV star later shared some of his festivities on Instagram Stories and fans were quick to spot his baby mama, Cheyenne, 26. After being put in the hot seat about his posts, Cory is now addressing the rumors and clearing the air, once and for all.

“As fans and followers of mine know, yesterday was my birthday,” he tells In Touch exclusively. “First and foremost thank you so much to everyone who reached out to wish me a happy birthday.”

Fans Want Answers

The doting daddy then addressed the “elephant in the room,” noting how people have been reaching out to him all morning. He added, “Specifically why did I spend my birthday with Cheyenne, as people saw on my Story, and not with Taylor who I’m currently dating?”

Cory explained that he shares a child with Cheyenne and they’ve also been filming for TMOG. “Cheyenne is the mother of my daughter, Ryder, and I wanted to see Ryder on my birthday,” he said. “Also, I am on a show with Cheyenne and we were taping for the show.”

No Bad Blood

“People need to understand that Cheyenne is always going to be there regardless of who I’m dating,” he tells In Touch. Even though they are not together romantically, Cory says they have nothing but respect for each other.

Friendly Exes

The reality star added, “She’s the mother of my child and we have an excellent co-parenting relationship and a genuine friendship.” Cory continued, “I care about her deeply and this has nothing to do with romance or who I’m dating.”

Cory also said that he didn’t post everything on social media. “Just because you didn’t see me with Taylor all over my Story on my birthday doesn’t mean I didn’t spend time with her on my birthday,” he explained. “Taylor and I are doing great and very happy together.”

While addressing the similar statements he made in the past, Cory said, “I’ll always love Cheyenne but I’m not in love with Cheyenne. We’re both with others currently and happy. That’s all there is to that.”

Reignited Romance

Earlier this month, Cory confirmed his blossoming romance with fellow MTV star Taylor. The couple previously met on season 1 of Ex on the Beach and dated briefly after the show. Now, they’re going strong!

Sun’s Out, Buns Out

Cory and Taylor, 24, both revealed that they were headed to Cancun for a romantic getaway on February 18. Based on all the fun-filled pics, it looked like they were having a blast on their “baecation.”

The on-again couple was even packing on major PDA during their adventurous trip. Sadly, Cory ended up finding out that Ryder needed to be hospitalized while he was away.

Responding to the Criticism

People started grilling Cory for being on vacation while his daughter wasn’t well and he fired back. “I’m doing everything I can to get home,” he said. “For ya’ll to come for me as a dad! It hurt.”

On the bright side, Cory was able to get home and spend some quality time with Ryder. She was later released from the hospital. “Ryder is, she means everything,” he gushed about his baby girl.
