He’s responding to the criticism. Cory Wharton was getting blasted by daddy-shamers after they found out his daughter, Ryder, was hospitalized while he was on vacation. The Teen Mom OG star had jetted off to Mexico with his on-again flame, Taylor Selfridge, before it was revealed that Ryder needed medical attention. Cory, 27, and his ex, Cheyenne Floyd, 26, are the proud parents of one-year-old Ryder. On February 22, she gave an unfortunate update about their precious baby girl.

“Emotionally and physically exhausted … my baby has been pricked and poked going on day three at the hospital with an 103 fever and flu,” Cheyenne revealed.

There’s Nothing Like Family

The MTV alum explained how the experience was eye-opening. “Situations like these always make you snap back into reality and puts so many things into perspective,” she wrote. “Ryder, once again you have taught mommy another lesson.”

Staying Strong

Cheyenne thanked her mom for staying with them at the hospital and also expressed her gratitude to the fans that showed support during the ordeal.

Keeping the Faith

“God please continue to watch over us and guide us through this difficult time,” the star continued. “I share Ryder’s medical journey to bring awareness to VLCAD and to the families that are constantly fighting. We got this. #RageRegardlessRy.”

Sadly, it didn’t take long for some users to go on Cory’s page and troll him for being on a trip with his girlfriend.

The reality star then took to Instagram Live to fire back at the daddy-shamers.

An Unbreakable Bond

“You can come for me, but don’t come for me as a dad, don’t,” he said according to OK! Magazine, while getting visibly emotional. “Ryder is, she means everything.”

Feeling the Pressure

“I’m doing everything I can to get home,” the doting father confirmed. “For ya’ll to come for me as a dad! It hurt. I can’t be there for Ryder.”

Setting the Record Straight

Cory explained that he asked Cheyenne to keep him up to date when he found out that Ryder wasn’t feeling well.

Zooming Home

“Yesterday was the real day she was like, ‘You know what, you need to come home. I need you here.’ I was like ‘Alright.’ So I hopped on the first flight that I could man and I’m coming home,” he said.

Doting Daddy

Cory concluded, “Everybody is so quick to try paint me as a bad dad, it’s not fair at all Ryder got sick while I was on vacation and once it got worse, I booked a flight home. At this point I can’t care about [what] everyone one else thinks I know what type of dad I [am]. I just want Ryder to get better.”

On the bright side, it looks like things are looking up for Ryder, who was diagnosed with the condition only two days after she was born in April 2017.

Most recently, Cory shared videos of them together in the hospital and it was later revealed that Ryder was released.
