Battle of the Exes? ‘Flip or Flop’ Star Tarek El Moussa Gets HGTV Deal Following ‘Christina on the Coast’ Premiere
Proving a point? Tarek El Moussa just got a new deal for his own HGTV series called Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa — just two months after his ex Christina Anstead’s show called Christina on the Coast premiered on the same channel.
According to the press release, “The 14-episode series will feature Tarek as he mentors real estate novices to help them learn the secrets of a successful flip.” The show is slated to premiere in early 2020.
It seems like the 37-year-old reality star is excited for his new endeavor. “My passion for real estate has led me to flip hundreds of homes over the years, and I’ve been incredibly lucky as an entrepreneur to build a successful business,” he said in the promo. “Now, I get to help first time flippers learn the ropes, find the best property deals and show them how to make the most profit on their investment.”
The real estate mogul also confirmed the news via Instagram. “This is one of the biggest announcements of my life!!!” he wrote. “Here is the big news!!!!! I’m so happy to share that my new SOLO show called Flipping 101 With Tarek El Moussa is coming to @HGTV! My show covers how I help novice flippers get through their projects, and I teach them how to turn the best profit!! And … how to come up with killer designs!! The last few years have been extremely difficult on me, and this is a huge accomplishment for me. Without YOU none of this would be my reality, so thank you!!! Thank you @hgtv and all my fans for always supporting and believing in me … I couldn’t have done it without you. #Flipping101 With Tarek El Moussa coming your way early next year.”
It’s not surprising that the dad of two will be appearing on the small screen since he was “extremely jealous” after Christina, 36, scored her own show, a source exclusively told In Touch in July 2018. “He’s anxious about what the his future holds while Christina’s career keeps gaining momentum,” the insider added at the time.
The former flames were married for seven years and share two kids: Taylor, 8, and Brayden, 3. Meanwhile, the blonde beauty recently tied the knot in December 2018 and is expecting her first child with her husband, Ant Anstead.
Even though Christina and Tarek are no longer together, they are still filming their hit show Flip or Flop. “#FliporFlop is back on August 1 with 18 brand new episodes!” the mom of two captioned a photo of herself with Tarek. “We can’t wait to show you the amazing transformations we’ve been working on for season 8. Tune in every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/PT! #HGTV @hgtv.”
Despite their relationship not working out, it seems like Christina is on good terms with Tarek. “It’s going good,” she told Life & Style in March 2018. “At the beginning, when everything first started, it was a lot harder because, you know, there was more tension between the two of us. Now, it’s gotten a lot easier.”
Well, nothing like some friendly competition, right?
