Style Make-Overs From 2017: The Biggest Celebrity Transformations

We have to admit, we're winded from watching some of the insane style celebrity transformations unfold over the course of this year. Everyone felt like they had to get extra AF and rebrand with a whole new persona, go for looks that were gaudy, attention-grabbing, eyeball-searing or just…you know, not cute.

From New Taylor Swift shedding her skin to Harry Styles falling in love with floral suits to, of course, Bella Thorne, here are some insane style evolutions from 2017.

Bella Thorne: Auburn-Hair Cutie to Sparkle-Soaked Rave Thot

It's actually daunting to see that back in 2016 Bella was looking not only normal, but more or less like a fresh-faced starlet who isn't about to let the Disney Channel down. Cut to: Bella Thorne going full middle school rebel with Manic Panic and a septum ring (a f–king septum ring) as the year wound down, making 2013 Miley Cyrus and 2006 to Now Lindsay Lohan proud, we're sure.

Now all that's left by 2017 is some kind of crazed creature that's like 20% tongue, 5% holographic bikini, 15% fishnets, and 60% glitter.

The first half of 2016 saw Ariel pretty wholesome and by the end of that year, sure, she was flaunting her figure and embracing her inner bombshell. She's had to play Alex Dunphy for like a trillion years, she's entitled to glam up.

BUT THEN. 2017 hits and every other red carpet Ariel is swapping spit with her gigantic boyfriend, or slapping on latex dresses, debuting a face that's so over-contoured that Kim Kardashian needs you to sit down. Instagram maybe showcases this better (it feels like a museum of underboob) but yeah, Ariel has an aggressively club-friendly look going on. Also, red extensions? Honey, please, calm yourself.

Harry Styles: Boy Band Bad Boy to Modern Mod Rocker

Just like your sophomore year boyfriend Harry Styles is going through his Classic Rock phase. But while your sophomore year boyfriend grew his hair into a scraggly mane and wore a lot of dirty t-shirts during that phase, Harry is going a classier Classic Rock route. Scraggly manes and dirty t-shirts were so last year.

Instead, Harry's go-to look has been a revolving door of paisley, floral, and harlequin (LOL what, why?) suits. And it's…well, it's a lot. Sometimes we think his outfits are the greatest thing in the world, other times it's like, "Shhhh, you're not going to fill the void that David Bowie left us, please put the ruffled shirt down."

Either way, we'd still hit it.

Can we talk about this for a second? Old 2016 Taylor had a bit of her edge in a look that foreshadowed her eventual turn to the dark side. There were plenty of black bodysuits and sequins, don't kid yourself.

However, the thing about 2016 Taylor is that her clothes…how do we say this…fit. Her clothes fit. They looked polished and slimming and really paired well with her weird Anna Wintour bob. But then, we guess she stopped combing and wearing outfits that flatter her. Instead, it's all baggy sparkle shirts and your BF's black boxers and every time she does that weird squat dance move we wanna die a little, it's fine.

Sel was no stranger to bright colors and charming silhouettes in 2016, all of her outfits complimented her Pantene-approved long brunette hair.

Then, all of a sudden she pops up at the 2017 AMAs rocking the Bride of Chucky look, and her style as a whole has suffered because of the blonde hair change. And look, we get it. We've spent trillions trying to do the whole blonde thing despite being aggressively Greek and unable to wash out that brassiness.

But someone's got to say it: this dye job is no good. This cut is no good. And we're not sure why exactly Selena doesn't know how to part her hair properly anymore, but that is no good either.

We're also pretty sure this is Justin Bieber's fault, we just don't know how.
