An honest mistake! Patricia Arquette knocked her The Act costar Joey King in the face with her trophy following her win on Sunday, January 5, but luckily, the 20-year-old had a great sense of humor about the ordeal. “Patricia Arquette accidentally hit me in the head with her Golden Globe,” she captioned two photos of herself with a black-and-blue bruise on her forehead via Twitter. “That sentence will give me bragging rights for the rest of my life. @PattyArquette.”

Of course, the 51-year-old couldn’t help but apologize for her clumsy actions. “What happens in the elevator stays in the elevator!” she replied. “No. Seriously, I’m so sorry sweetest one!”

While the two were in the elevator at the InStyle party, Patricia wore a Viking helmet while Joey sported a black cap and when she went to take it off, the blonde beauty accidentally hit her smack in the frontal area. While many fans immediately flooded Joey’s comments section with sweet notes, many thought it was a good luck charm. One person wrote, “Maybe it’s like catching the bouquet at a wedding. The next Emmy is yours?” while another echoed, “I think this was like the fairy godmother and her magic wand! This will bring you luck!” A third chimed in, writing, “Turns out you were the true winner last night.”

Patricia nabbed the Best Supporting Actress in Television at the star-studded event, and it was much deserved for her performance as Dee Dee Blanchard in the Hulu series. Even though Joey didn’t take home an award — she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role as Gypsy Rose Blanchard — she couldn’t help but gush over working with the Boyhood actress. “I mean, she’s taught me so much. And she’s just one of the greatest friends that I’ve ever had,” Joey told In Touch and other reporters at the Gold Meets Golden Pre-Golden Gloves event on January 4.

The Kissing Booth star even revealed she couldn’t contain her excitement about the big day. “I’ve never been nominated for a Golden Globe before, so I’m very excited,” she dished. “But I’m just going to start with my glam team, I’m going to get a giant breakfast for everybody, it’ll be so fun. And my mom’s going as my date, we’re going to have so much fun, so I’m looking forward to that, to sharing this moment with her, to sharing it with Patricia, to just being able to say that I get to go as a nominee is a win in and of itself. I’m so grateful.”

At least it was all in good fun!
