Paola Mayfield’s Friend Juan Isn’t Thrilled That She’s Having a Baby With Russ: “He Has to Accept It”
It’s hard enough when your best friend and husband don’t like each other, but having a baby changes the whole game. 90 Day Fiancé star Paola Mayfield was so excited to announce that she and husband Russ are expecting their first child, but first she had to have a difficult conversation with her bestie Juan. His reaction totally “surprised” her.
“I told him, ‘Look, this is gonna happen, so I don’t want you to find out through someone else,’” Pao told Us on July 27. “And he was like, ‘I’m about to cry. Even though I know I’m not a big fan of Russ, this is amazing because I love you and I know what you’ve been through, so I’m really happy for you.’” What a relief!

Pao is hopeful about the future of Russ and Juan’s relationship, and she thinks it’s possible that this baby will actually help them become friends. “I want to believe [it will], but he has to accept it no matter what,” she said. “There’s nothing he can do about it, and I don’t want the negativity around us because we’re going to be parents.”
Paola went on to explain that she definitely wants Juan to be able to spend time with her family, but that’s going to depend on his attitude toward her husband. “He’s definitely going to need to be more respectful if he’s gonna wanna hang around. More civil, cordial. That’s all I’ve asked from him.”
At this point, it sounds like nothing could bring Paola and Russ down. They’re so thrilled to be pregnant again after suffering a tragic miscarriage and struggling with their relationship in the aftermath. But now, they seem happier than ever, and we can’t wait to meet their little bundle of joy!
