Nicole Kidman Shut Down Rami Malek’s Attempts To Chat Not Once But TWICE During The Golden Globes
We’re cringing, y’all! Nicole Kidman totally shut down Rami Malek‘s attempts (yes, multiple attempts) to chat while sharing the stage at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 6. Rami, who won Best Actor for his performance in Bohemian Rhapsody just moments before, tried to seamlessly join the producers and chat it up with Hollywood’s hottest A-lister. Spoiler alert: It did not go well.
“Rami Malek awkwardly and unsuccessfully trying to have a moment with Nicole Kidman is me trying to insert myself in groups and conversations at social events. #GoldenGIobes” one user wrote on Twitter. Another chimed in, “Rami Malek trying to talk to Nicole Kidman is like me trying to talk to my crush #GoldenGlobes.”
Others, however, felt the Aquaman actress was rude. “Anyone else think Nicole Kidman owes Rami Malek an apology?” someone asked. A second fumed, “Another reason not to like Nicole Kidman. @ItsRamiMalek is pure class and played it off well. The presenter should be focused on the awardee, not herself. #GoldenGlobes2019.” Ouch.
But that wasn’t the only drama that went down during the ceremony. Chrissy Metz garnered quite a bit of attention for a hot mic mix-up where the This Is Us star was thought to have called actress Alison Brie “a b–ch” while her mic was still on. Chrissy however, has since spoken to Us Weekly to set the record straight.
“It’s unfortunate people want to say stuff that they don’t know is true or not. Alison and I obviously are friends,” the Emmy-nominated actress told the outlet during the Globes ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 6. “She knows that I would never say something like that.”
Chrissy, 38, also said that Alison, 36, is “somebody that I really revere” and revealed that they “already texted about” the unfortunate confusion.
Sigh. Can’t we all just get along? Although TBH, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t living for this drama.
