‘This Is Us’ Was Originally Conceptualized as a Movie Focusing on Sextuplets in England (EXCLUSIVE)
In the new issue of In Touch, This Is Us execs and cast reveal major behind-the-scenes secrets! For starters, the series originally was conceptualized as a movie focusing on sextuplets in England and the Pearsons were almost the Peasings.
“We changed it because it’s a weird last name,” explains creator Dan Fogelman. Perhaps the biggest shock? Mandy Moore, 33, and Justin Hartley, 41, almost played lovers on another show. “If that pilot would have [been picked up], it would have run two or three episodes and then I wouldn’t have gotten this job,” Justin said. “I’m glad it fell apart!”
