After Nicki Minaj revealed to her fans that she was “retiring” from music to start a family with her boyfriend, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, on Thursday, September 5, the rapper is now reassuring her followers that she will explain her decision in the near future.

Of course, Nicki’s fanbase, a.k.a. Barbies, couldn’t believe what was going on. One person wrote, “@NickiMinaj can you please just address this retirement thing? You never left us so hurt your entire career. We’re just hurting, Nicki. It’s US, it’s the Barbz, please.”

However, the 36-year-old “Megatron” crooner took some time out of her day to give some insight as to what was going on. “I’m still right here,” she said. “Still madly in love with you guys, and you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion, and it will be. I promise you guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt and insensitive. I apologize, babe.”

A second user chimed in, writing, “Like, yeah, it might be a bit dramatic, but a lot of Barbz are really shaken by this. I just need her to talk to us about it or something.” The brunette beauty replied, writing, “I will, babe. I promise. I love you so much.”

The day before, Nicki claimed she was taking some time off. “I’ve decided to retire and have my family,” she wrote on Twitter. “I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin’ me, do it ‘till da death of me, in the box — because ain’t nobody checkin’ me. Love you for LIFE.”

Naturally, people started to immediately freak out over the news. One person wrote, “About to look up the word ‘retire’. Hopefully, it means dropping an album tomorrow. Wish me luck,” while another echoed, “This is my cue to leave earth.” A third chimed in, writing, “Nicki, stop. This ain’t funny. I’m not prepared for this right now.”

These days, the Grammy nominee has been hanging out with her 41-year-old man and is clearly looking forward to walking down the aisle. Nicki recently changed her name from Ms. Minaj to Mrs. Petty on Twitter, shortly after she stopped by the Beverly Hills courthouse to get a marriage license.

Nicki revealed that she was still putting the finishing touches on some new tunes, so hopefully she won’t be leaving the industry just yet. “I have to work on my album, and I have a lot to focus on that. I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later,” Nicki said about her upcoming nuptials on her Queen Radio show in August. “I’ll be married before my album comes out but will have my wedding after the album comes out. Before the 90 days is over, yes, I will be married.”
