‘My 600-lb Life’ Star Chad Dean Is Releasing A Memoir About His Weight Loss Journey

This is going to be a real page-turner! Chad Dean is reportedly putting the “final touches” on his memoir, I’m In Here Somewhere: Memoir of a Food Addict, which is set to be released in early 2019. The former My 600-lb Life star has dropped more than 400 pounds since making his debut on Season 4, and he’ll be sharing the story about his weight loss journey with the world.

Chad wrote it with author Celeste Prater and the former reality star let any fans know on Oct. 4 to check it out if they have been “wondering what [he’s] been up to.” Chad further explained that he’s “been busy sorting through all the changes in [his] life,” which inspired him to write a book in hope of helping others. It’s scheduled for publication on Jan. 15, according to Celeste’s website.

Chad hit the scale around 700 pounds at his peak weight, so the truck driver was forced to do something drastic or he risked losing his life. At the start of the show, Chad had to rely on his wife Ayesha and their two children Taqua and JoJo to wait on him hand and foot. “It’s not what my kids deserve,” the former reality star said at the time. “Their lives now revolve around me.”

After undergoing gastric bypass surgery, Chad managed to drop 260 pounds in a year and he’s continued to make progress. “Like to say thanks to a person who has not only changed my life but the lives of so many people words,” he wrote to his Houston-based surgeon, Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, in a recent update. “Can’t say how special this man is in my life.”

Chad didn’t have enough money to pay for skin removal surgery after entering back into the workforce. He set up a GoFundMe and has raised $5,490 of his $7,500 goal in 10 months. According to the fundraiser’s most recent update, Chad went in for another round of skin removal surgery about a year ago. Fast forward to now, and the former TLC star has reportedly dropped a grand total of 420 pounds from his peak weight, and currently weighs around 280. Way to go!
