*Sigh* Karina Garcia Has Faced Several Catfishing Attempts Since ‘My 600-lb Life’

Don’t even try it! Karina Garcia is looking better than ever and she’s also on top of her game when it comes to scoping out fake profiles. The former My 600-lb Life star has been the victim of multiple catfishing attempts since appearing on the hit TLC show.

Viewers haven’t heard much from Karina since her episode, so they were surprised when she unexpectedly changed her Facebook relationship status to “It’s complicated” this summer. As Starcasm pointed out on Nov. 13, Karina’s status change prompted an interesting response from an account named Jackson Jack — seemingly the guy Karina thought she was involved with. “Baby what do you mean?” Jackson wrote. “Karina, you don’t know me but that Jackson Jack is a fake profile trying to catfish you. He is from another country… Please be careful… He is a fraud,” one of Karina’s commenters added.

“Yes, I know. I have [met] alot on Facebook like that already,” Karina replied. “I have had [that] done to me already eight times.” The former TLC star explained that she’s fully aware of the scammers out there, adding, “But I never give them money or anything like that.” On the plus side, it looks like she’s learning how to deal with catfish attempts and she’s also got plenty of fans who totally have her back. Karina last posted a black and white selfie on Nov. 10, showing off her weight loss progress. While appearing on Season 6, she started at 633 pounds and dropped more than 235 pounds on the show.

Karina said her weight loss struggles began during her childhood and she struggled even more due to her asthma. “I just started gaining and gaining,” she said. “Before school and with my allowance, I would buy junk food: chips, soda, cookies, cupcakes. Food was always there to comfort me no matter what.” Now that she’s dropped some of the weight, Karina hasn’t said if she’s filming a Where Are They Now? episode, but hopefully she’ll came fans in the loop on social media!
