Thanks to the Internet, crazy conspiracy theories, like linking celebrities to MK Ultra, are no longer exclusive to just basement dwellers and eccentric shut-ins. You’ve definitely heard about the lluminati theories or even the crazy conspiracy that celebrities are killed and replaced by clones. And sure, you’ve probably chuckled about them, but many fans take these rumors seriously. One such theory that’s been gaining popularity lately is the “MK Ultra” conspiracy. MK Ultra is a real CIA mind control operation that took place in the ’50s. It was suspended in 1973, but many people still believe the operation is being held secretly — and even worse, they’re being used on celebrities.

The general consensus that conspiracists believe is that a powerful group of people brainwash celebrities and use them to further their occultist agenda. According to theorists, celebs who’ve been mind-controlled are prone to “glitches” when their brain starts to fight against the programming. Many believe these “malfunctions” explain famous public breakdowns, like Britney Spears’ head-shaving or Amanda Bynes’, uh, everything. To add a splash of legitimacy to the movement, actress Roseanne Barr admitted in a TV interview in 2013 that “MK Ultra mind control rules Hollywood.” She later elaborated on her comments to Esquire. “Yeah, it sounds insane,” she said. “But do you think it sounds insane that a message bounces off a satellite and goes everywhere in the world at the same second? We live with that kind of technology.”

Yes, we know, it sounds crazy AF. It’s pretty much one big rabbit hole of craziness, but people really believe this and their theories have been polluting reddit, YouTube comment sections, and other dredges of the Internet. Although we admit it’s awfully fascinating, you should probably take these theories with a grain of salt. However, if you do want to learn more and come down this rabbit hole with us, below are eight celebrities fans think are victims of mind control — along with their “proof.”

Britney Spears

Back in 2003, Britney appeared on a now infamous interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC’s Primetime. In the video, she breaks down in tears when Diane asks her about her chaotic life full of paparazzi. However, what theorists have focused on is the moment right before she cries when she exudes some pretty odd behavior.

Although many fans believe Britney was simply reacting to her tears, many more believe she was actually glitching or switching personalities due to mind control. “Why didn’t everyone notice this???” a fan wrote on YouTube. “She is programmed by MK Ultra and is changing her persona. It’s so weird that the interviewer didn’t say anything either.”

Al Roker

Back in 2012, the TODAY host confused fans when he appeared to “freeze” on camera for several seconds without even blinking. Many conspiracy theorists believed the co-anchor had a mind glitch due to the phrase “holy ghost.”

Al himself later said he couldn’t explain why he blacked out. But, of course, the Internet had plenty of suggestions. “The word holy ghost triggered him to recess into his conscious,” a fan wrote on YouTube. “That’s what happens to people who have been subjected to trauma induced mind control.” Another wrote, “Someone stepped on Al Roker’s cord back at the MKUltra headquarters that’s all.”

Beyoncé

In “Formation,” the pop star herself addressed Illuminati rumors by calling the conspiracy “corny.” However, that hasn’t stopped fans from believing she’s a mind-controlled occultist who sold her soul to the devil. One example they often cite is the above video of Beyoncé swaying and looking trance-like while watching a basketball game. It doesn’t seem that unusual at first, but theorists have pointed out that no music was playing. Dun dun dun. On YouTube, many commenters like to argue whether she’s high, tired, or “possessed by demons.” We’ll let you be the judge of that.

Lady Gaga

The “Million Reasons” singer pops up a lot when it comes to insane conspiracy theories, but one example fans love to pull out is from a 2009 Jonathan Ross interview. In the video, she covers one eye with her hand after the host says, “Good lord.” Many theorists believe the one-hand-over-the-eye pose is the “Lucifer sign.” According to them, since Lady Gaga is mind-controlled, her body unconsciously performs the sign in reaction to the word “lord.”

“That is part of her MK Ultra mind control program,” one fan wrote. ” So sad what these people are going through just to be famous….. The world is literally run by Luciferian pedophiles.” Another wrote, “Of course ‘something’ doesn’t seem right. She’s completely under MK Ultra programming here. The teacup she carries is a symbol for one of her alter personalities. None of you will believe these ‘conspiracy theories,’ but it’s the truth.”

News anchor, Robin Meade

Although she’s not quite an A-list celebrity, a video of the CNN reporter staring trance-like for several seconds has many fans believing she too is a victim of MK Ultra mind control. “God is exposing all these nasty demons,” a fan commented. “They cannot hide anymore.”

Draymond Green

The NBA star “froze” during a press conference, and the MK Ultra theorists had a lot to say on the matter. “That’s def a trance on some devil s–t,” a fan commented. Another wrote, “This is bizarre. He didn’t move, he didn’t blink, he didn’t even drop some slob from his big fat hanging mouth. I’ve never seen nothing (sic) like this.”

Kylie Jenner

kylie jenner mind control

During an episode of her show, Life of Kylie, she’s shown sitting through a therapy session. When she says, “I always wanted to try it out,” she suddenly clinches her fingers in a weird way, like she’s having a minor spasm. Many fans have pointed this out as an example of “body memory.” According to them, many mind control victims get muscle spasms as a result of electroshock treatments. “It’s undeniable at this point,” a fan wrote on YouTube. “The twitching on Kylie was really creepy. Hollywood is so f–ked up.”

Katy Perry

While performing “I Kissed a Girl” at a concert, Katy suddenly starts behaving oddly before passing out and being carried off the stage. “This video creeps me out,” a fan wrote on YouTube. “It’s like she had an mk ultra break down.” Another fan wrote, “THAT WAS A DEMONIC POSSESSION.” However, others say Katy faked the whole thing as part of her act. We’ll leave that up for you to decide.
