Miley Cyrus and Boyfriend Cody Simpson Celebrate Her 27th Birthday Together in Nashville

Still going strong! Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend, Cody Simpson, celebrated her 27th birthday early on Friday, November 22. The pop star’s actual birthday is on Saturday, November 23, but she kicked off her birthday weekend festivities with a nice dinner out in Nashville.

At one point during her low-key dinner at a restaurant, she stopped to pose for a cute group photo with her pals. There were black, silver and gold balloons decorating the table, and she sat next to her 22-year-old beau as she smiled wide in the snap.

Their rare outing comes after they sparked split rumors in recent weeks after fans noticed the couple, who first started dating in October, had stopped posted photos of or with each other on social media. Their weeks of social media silence seemed to be a hint that they were headed for splitsville, especially since they had both become regular fixtures on each other’s Instagrams. But on Wednesday, November 20, Cody took to Instagram to seemingly address the split rumors by sharing a photo of his phone lock screen, which featured a throwback picture of the former Disney star, according to Us Weekly.

It’s nice to see Miley out and about after she underwent vocal cord surgery earlier this month. According to Entertainment Tonight, the “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer learned about an issue while she was previously hospitalized for tonsilitis in October. She was advised by doctors to undergo surgery before the end of the year to fix the issue. As part of her recovery, which is set to take a few weeks, she will have to remain on vocal rest.

But hours before Miley was released from the hospital on November 8, Cody took to Instagram to seemingly share an update about how her surgery went with fans on Instagram. “Success,” the Australian singer captioned the photo.

Miley and Cody have been friends for years but only recently decided to take their relationship to the next level, after Miley’s splits from both her estranged husband, Liam Hemsworth, and her ex-girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter. “Cody has a calming effect on Miley and that’s what she needs right now,” an insider exclusively told In Touch in October. “He’s like her comfort food. She needs Cody in her life right now.”
