Pop star Miley Cyrus seems to be recovering just fine after she reportedly underwent vocal chord surgery. The 26-year-old pop star smiled in a sweet selfie with her boyfriend, Cody Simpson, and he posted the photo on his Instagram Story with a caption that seemed to hint at how the procedure went.
“Success,” Cody, 22, captioned the black-and-white picture of him and Miley on Friday, November 8.
As In Touch previously reported, Miley was hospitalized for tonsilitis last month. But during that incident, doctors discovered an issue with the “Mother’s Daughter” singer’s vocal chords that she did not know she had, according to People. Doctors then suggested that Miley should undergo surgery before the end of the year in order to treat the issue, and the recovery would require her to rest her voice and be silent for several weeks. But, judging by Cody’s Instagram post, Miley seems to be back on the mend.
On October 8, Miley took to Instagram to reveal her previous hospitalization for tonsilitis. “Trying to heal as quick as I can to make it to Gorillapalooza [with Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi and Bruno Mars] this weekend!” she wrote at the time. “Send gooooood vibes my way! Hoping the rock star gods send me a boost of bad ass and help me kick this s–t to the curb where it belongs! [We’ve] got gorillas to save!”
Miley then gushed about having her mom, Tish Cyrus, around to help her heal from her procedure. “How you present yourself can determine how you feel!” she wrote. “Thank you, mama, for helpin’ this little sickyyy look a little bit better by brushin’ my hair for me. @tishcyrus Mommies are the best!”
But her mom wasn’t the only person by her side during the healing process, which included vocal rest. Her man, Cody, was also supporting her in the hospital and he even sweetly serenaded Miley with a song he wrote just for her while she was in the hospital titled “Golden Thing” — and Miley even pushed Cody to release the track as his latest single.
“I wrote her a song this week that she’s pretty much forcing me to put out. She’s like, ‘If you don’t put this s–t out, I’m putting it out on your behalf for you. I’m getting your Spotify login and doing this s–t myself,’ and I was just like, ‘Alright, alright I’ll do it,’ Cody told In Touch and other reporters at the Tiffany & Co. Men’s Collections Launch at the Hollywood Athletic Club in October.
