What Happened Between Caryn, Zach and Tori on ‘Little People, Big World’? Inside Their Feud, Estrangement

Jackson’s Birthday Bash

Matt attended grandson Jackson’s 5th birthday amid his ongoing feud with Zach in May 2022. He was seen in the background of Tori’s Instagram Stories post and seemed joyous to be in attendance at his grandson’s birthday party.

Tensions were seemingly high as the celebration took place less than one week after Zach called out his dad via Instagram regarding the farm’s sale announcement.

Welcome Baby Josiah

Tori and Zach welcomed their third child in May 2022, in the midst of the family drama over the farm. The arrival of their son led to the ultimate estrangement of the family as Zach said he and Tori did not plan to allow Caryn to meet their newborn baby boy. The drama played out in the show in an episode that aired on November 8, 2022. 

Tori later explained in a confessional, “When you have two adults and there’s kids involved, if those two adults don’t get along well, the relationship with the kids is going to suffer.”

Blood Isn’t Thicker Than Water

Matt dropped a bomb during the LPBW season 24 trailer when he announced the sale of the farm while revealing that he “never said anybody would inherit [the farm].” The statement followed Zach and Jeremy’s offer to purchase the land.

Is Caryn a Karen?

Fans got riled up after the season 24 trailer dropped and slammed Caryn in the comment section of TLC’s October 2022 Instagram post. 

“Karen [sic] is a grown adult. She is more than capable of going to Tori and having a conversation. If she is not comfortable doing that. It is not OK to go around talking to other people about Tori. That’s a level of toxicity no one needs in their life,” a fan wrote. 

Fans ultimately sided with Zach and Tori, while agreeing that Caryn has overstepped her sole as she is not married into the family and even deemed her as “entitled.”

“Those are not your kids or grandchildren,” another viewer commented.

Pumpkin Eater

Fall is a busy time of year on Roloff Farms and the annual pumpkin season continued as usual amid the sale and family drama in 2022. Pumpkin season used to be the time of the year when the entire family headed to the farm and embarked on the festivities. However, in 2022, it appears only Jacob and his wife, Isabel Rock, worked while Zach, Tori, Jeremy and Audrey seemingly skipped the big season.

Making Progress

Although Tori and Zach said they were not in contact during season 24, Matt told Entertainment Tonight that he and his son were “on the right path.”

“We’ve had some setbacks in recent years. We’ve shared all of those on the upcoming season and before. Our real life is always a little bit ahead of when things are released. But we’re definitely working,” he told the publication in October 2022.

Leaving the Show?

Tori held a fan Q&A via Instagram in November 2022 and was asked if she and Zach “will ever step away from filming.” Keeping it short and sweet she responded, “Yes.”

On the other hand, rumors swirled that Caryn quit the show. A source told The Sun in November 2022 that she left and was “completely done.”

“She thinks there are too many disagreements with what they want to say and do on air, and too much family drama. She feels as though she’s the one always caught in the middle trying to mediate. Although she knows it probably makes for good ratings, she doesn’t want to be a part of it anymore.”

Fans Side With Tori and Zach

Matt revealed he was “leaving rainy Oregon” and heading to “more sunny sunshine” as pumpkin season at Roloff Farms came to an end. 

A fan commented on the November 2022 Instagram post asking, “Quick question … was your greed worth giving up access to your children and grandchildren? I’m gonna pray for you Matt.” To which the patriarch responded, “Quick answer. Yes! Important life lessons are hard.”

Restoring Their Father-Son Bond

The family came together in November 2022 to honor Matt’s late father, Ronald Roloff, who died in July. Audrey captured moments of the family outing, where Zach and Tori’s eldest children Jackson and Lilah were in attendance.

While fans are watching their drama play out on the show, Matt and Zach seem to making progress toward a restored relationship.

Broken Branches

“Caryn tells other people that she’s waiting for our olive branch, and that olive branch, the dove took it to another island. I don’t know,” Tori said in a confessional during a November 2022 episode of the show.

She continued, “In the end, everything worked better. I don’t know that Matt and Zach would’ve worked well on the farm anyway and we’re happy where we are now.”
