‘The Little Couple’ Star Bill Klein Reflects On Adoption: ‘We Were Destined To Have Will And Zoey Be Our Kids’
Well, this is adorable. The Little Couple star Bill Klein recently reflected on adoption, and he had the sweetest things to say about his two kids. The 44-year-old — who stars on the hit TLC show alongside his wife, Jen Arnold — gushed about Will, 8, and Zoey, 7, in a recent clip.
Bill recalled the heartbreaking story of how Will was left on the doorstep of the ER when he was just a few days old. He added that Zoey’s story was equally disturbing: Her mother was single, underage, and there was the possibility of abuse. Yet no matter their background, he now says he’s fortunate the two entered their lives.
“Out of all that horrible stuff came one of the most amazing girls this world has ever seen,” Bill gushed. “My wife and I both believe that we were destined to have Will and Zoey be our kids. There are seven billion people on this planet, and there’s only two of them that were right for us.” BRB, crying!

Both Will and Zoey have dwarfism — just like their parents. The cute couple made it a point that they wanted to adopt a child with special needs, as they have dealt with similar experiences. “We’ve dealt with prejudice and many challenges,” Jen told People ahead of Zoey’s adoption. “I feel very lucky and fortunate that I have the wonderful life I have.”
In fact, Jen wanted to use her and her family’s dwarfism as a way to teach people. “A little girl came up to me in a store and said, ‘You are a little person,’ very matter-of-factly and I said, ‘Yes, I am, thank you very much,'” she said. “We have an opportunity to raise awareness and that’s wonderful.”
Yet this past year has been a tough one for the TLC personalities. First, they uprooted their lives in Houston and relocated to St. Petersberg, FL, for Jen’s new job at a children’s hospital. Then, their beloved hometown was affected by Hurricane Harvey — only to be followed by news that they had to evacuate their new house due to Hurricane Irma. Not to mention, back in 2014, Jen was diagnosed with cancer.
“It actually got harder as more time went on,” she told People at the time. “Some weeks were more difficult than others with different side effects. I had a lot of fatigue and nausea and some days it just felt like my hands and feet were very heavy.”
Luckily, she’s now in remission — and things are looking up for the pair. They so deserve a break!
The Little Couple airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
