The Death of Kirk Frost’s Mother Brought Him Closer Together With Estranged Wife Rasheeda
There's no shortage of tension between estranged couple Rasheeda and Kirk Frost on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, but even though Kirk may have allegedly cheated on Rasheeda with his side chick Jasmine Washington and had a baby outside of his marriage, that did not stop Rasheeda from supporting Kirk after he learned his mother Gloria had suddenly passed away just four days before his birthday.
Rasheeda had pulled up to Kirk's house to confront him over drama with Jasmine, but when she found him in his bedroom packing up clothes, she realized that something serious was going on. "I just got the call that my mom passed," he told Rasheeda, who immediately gave her condolences. The two embraced before Kirk explained how he found out the heartbreaking news. "Little Kevin went over there and he was knocking and she didn't answer," he said through tears. "She didn't answer the door and he heard the TV, so he called 911 and kicked the door in and he went in there and she was laying in the bed unresponsive.”
"I just talked to her two days ago. My mom is gone. What am I going to do?" he said as they hugged more, with Rasheeda telling him, "I'm here for you. I'm here to help you." Rasheeda held true to her word, and tried to cheer him up by inviting family and friends to a last-minute birthday party. "Trying to make this an amazing birthday for [him]. He didn’t want to celebrate but it’s important to be around family [and] friends during this time," Rasheeda wrote in an Instagram post. "His mom wouldn’t [have] wanted it any other way."
Though he was still mourning the loss, Kirk appreciated all of the support he was receiving. "I’m very thankful and I really appreciate everyone. I didn’t feel like celebrating my birthday because I felt like, why celebrate when I just lost my mother, but my family coming together for me at this time made me realize that we have to keep going no matter what. Mom, I miss you and love you so much and I wish you were here or just calling me at 7 a.m. saying happy birthday."
After her passing, Kirk shared a few videos of his mother, expressing on Instagram, "I love you so much and don’t know how my life is going to be without you. I don’t know how to tell Karter his grandma is in heaven… I’m lost for words." Rasheeda also posted a tribute to Gloria, writing to Kirk, "I’m so sorry and so sad. I don’t know this feeling and although I know we all will experience loss, it’s just so hard! You lost an amazing, funny, loving mother and our children lost their granny who they loved so much."
