“I’m a big believer in self-care. It’s better for everybody if you’re taking care of yourself,” Katie told Shape magazine in a new interview. She also shared some of her favorite ways to treat herself. “Those moments are really worth it. I like to get massages. I also have a favorite daily ritual: I take 20 minutes in the morning to write down a list of the things I’m grateful for and listen to calming music. It’s kind of a meditation, and I give myself that time to just enjoy. It sets a good tone for my day.”
Katie previously said that working out has also been a good outlet for her to help with stress. “It clears my mind and I can look at it from a different point of view,” she told Us Weekly at the Hoka One’s panel on Friday, November 1. “It gets everything in perspective.”
The brunette beauty continued to emphasize how essential hitting the gym is to her mental health. “I think it always makes me feel better because even if I do five minutes, it’s better than sitting on the couch,” she said. Katie added, “I’ve been running and working out since I was 11. It helps when you’re around a lot of different energies, you just run and get back to yourself.”
Since Katie’s split from Jamie, 51, the actress has been spotted hitting the streets of NYC with her daughter, Suri, and making a statement on the fashion scene. Sources said that a breakup looks good on the actress and she is now more confident than ever.
“‘New decade. New beginning’ is how Katie sees it,” an insider told In Touch exclusively. “Katie’s genuinely excited about where she’s at in life and it’s fun that everyone is talking about how amazing she looks. It’s really boosted her confidence. She’s feeling on top of the world!” We love to see a badass babe feeling herself!
