Are they done for good? Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have had an on-and-off relationship for years, but now that they’ve called it quits again, we’re not particularly confident that a reunion is in their future. All of the details coming out hint that Katie, 40, and Jamie, 51, just couldn’t make it work, but is this part of their pattern? August 2013

Romance speculation was first sparked six years ago when the stars were caught dancing in the Hamptons at a charity event. The moment was innocuous enough and they were far from the only two people dancing together, but the flirtation seemed to be the beginning of a whirlwind romance.

October 2013

Though the actor “100-percent” denied they were dating a few months later while chatting with Entertainment Tonight, sources told In Touch differently. “Katie and Jamie have been dating for a while,” an insider exclusively revealed to In Touch. “They’re very Mission: Impossible about their romance.”

February 2015

Later, Us Weekly snagged the first photo of the duo holding hands and reported that the couple had been seeing each other for two years. An inside source said that, over that time, they’d kept their relationship tightly under wraps by going to extreme lengths. “[Katie would] put on a wig and hat to meet him at a hotel,” the source said.

December 2015

Though the two continued to keep any dates on the down-low, Katie was one of many celebs who showed up to help celebrate Jamie’s birthday, reigniting the romance rumors after months of silence.

January 2016

Just a month later, the actress was spotted spending time with her boyfriend’s daughter. Katie, Suri and Corinne Foxx had all headed out to share a girls’ day in Beverly Hills, California. “They were all so relaxed with each other, it seemed like they knew each other really well and spent time together before this day,” a source reported to Radar Online.

June 2016

A few months later, someone finally went on the record about the couple. The actor’s friend Real Housewives of Atlanta star Claudia Jordan was the first to officially spill the beans on an episode of the podcast “Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss.” On the recording, she raved, “He is very happy with her. … I like that he seems very happy.” Though she later said she misspoke, the cat was out of the bag.

Summer 2016

In July, Jamie was spotted in Toronto where Katie was filming a movie. The two were spotted having dinner in the city. In August, they reunited in New York, where it was Katie’s turn to support Jamie as he took the stage during a Barbra Streisand concert.

December 2016

The holidays were big for the couple. In addition to celebrating Jamie’s birthday with a private vacation to Mexico, they hopped over to Miami, Florida to ring in the new year together. “[They were] holding hands while walking near the pool,” an insider told Us.

Spring 2017

In April, the two were seen together in New York City. The next month, they were spotted together in Paris on the set of one of Jamie’s movies.

September 2018

Jamie and Katie were spotted out together again, this time hand-in-hand on a beach in Malibu, California. Though they both wore sunglasses and hats, the Daily Mail photos show they didn’t seem to be hiding their romance.

January 2018

After spending another of Jamie’s birthdays together in December, they finally made their debut as an officially couple, attending Clive Davis‘ Pre-Grammys Gala and cuddling close as they sat together at their table.

February 2018

The two kept it casual for Valentine’s Day, spending the holiday together by playing basketball rather than making any romantic gestures. When Jamie was asked about their outing during an interview, he walked off rather than answer any questions.

March 2018

There was a rocky road ahead, though. In Touch reported that the actor was seen with a mystery brunette at the Oscars. The two seemed to be trying to keep it low-key, but eventually got in an elevator together and left.

Summer 2018

Whatever went down at the Oscars didn’t seem to slow the couple down, however. In June, a rep for Katie told People that reports the couple had split were “100-percent untrue,” and they were spotted together again in Malibu in August.

December 2018

Later that year, they were also seen strolling around New Orleans, Louisiana as they shacked up in the city. Later that month, Katie was seen bringing balloons home for another birthday celebration. For her birthday, they jetted off to New York for dinner. When New Year’s Eve rolled around, they spent that together, too, smiling and kissing while riding jet skis in Miami.

Spring 2019

In February, Jamie confused fans when he called himself single. Not long after, he was seen with another mystery brunette. By April, however, they’d reunited on an ice cream date and were seen holding hands in Los Angeles, California. In May, they even posed for photos together at the Met Gala, and daughter Corinne said they were “really happy … so great … [and] wonderful.”

As summer neared its end, though, the actor was spotted out with another woman once again, an upcoming artist named Sela Vave. The two were seen in Los Angeles as split rumors swirled.

Now, it seems Jamie and Katie are officially done. In Touch is able to confirm that the couple has called it split after six years and plenty of problems. “Jamie and Katie have been arguing nonstop over his partying,” a source exclusively told In Touch. “For months he’s been promising to calm his wild ways, but nothing’s changed and she’s finally come to the conclusion that she wants to be with a guy who’s more mature and ready to settle down.”
