Joy-Anna Duggar’s BFF Carlin Bates Supports Her in the Hospital After Miscarriage
After revealing that she suffered from a miscarriage with baby No. 2, Joy-Anna Duggar shared that she didn’t have to go through it alone. In addition to having husband Austin Forsyth by her side, her BFF, Carlin Bates, also rushed from Tennessee to Arkansas so that she could be there for her bestie in the hospital. In addition to providing moral support, the Duggar family friend also did Joy’s makeup and hair so that she could take some family photos they could keep to remember little Annabell.
“I wish there were words to express how broken hearted I am for my best friend,” Carlin, 21, shared on Instagram on Thursday, July 4. “Seeing her give birth to her little girl, Annabell Elise, and knowing that she would never be able to hold her again while on earth just brings tears to my eyes. Yet, through it all, she has been so strong and held on to Jesus, knowing that we will see her little baby in heaven one day. I know that Jesus doesn’t promise that we will not face difficulties in this life, but He does promise to be by our side every step of the way. I’m so grateful to have a friend as precious as Joy, and I know that she would covet prayers at this hard time.”
It was clear that Joy, 21, was touched by both the message and the gesture. “Thank you so much for being there for me and doing my hair and makeup for photos with our sweet baby girl!” she wrote in the comments. “You brought joy to my heart during this very difficult time! I love you dearly!” On Friday, July 5, she also shared her own post. “We only had her for 20 weeks,” she wrote about her late daughter. “Life is fragile and precious. So thankful the Lord gave her to us for that short time! She will be in our hearts forever!💝😇” To her fans, she added, “Thank you all for your love and support! We can feel the prayers!💕” And for her best friend, she said, “Thank you, @carlinbates98, for coming to town to be here for me and for doing my hair and makeup for pictures with our little girl!💖”
It’s clear that Carlin did a great job glamming Joy up so that they could take some photos that would last a lifetime. And the love didn’t stop there. “You’re in my thoughts night and day,” she told her BFF in the comments section. “I love you so much and I’m so honored to call you my friend. You’re my hero!”
