Pregnant Joy-Anna Duggar Gets All Glammed Up for Best Friend Carlin Bates’ Wedding

Her best friend’s wedding! Pregnant Counting On star Joy-Anna Duggar has a very sweet bond with her bestie, Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates — so of course, Joy-Anna couldn’t be more excited about Carlin’s wedding day. The 21-year-old took to Instagram on Saturday, May 25, to share some behind-the-scenes snaps from Carlin’s bridal prep.

First, Joy-Anna captured the sweet moment that Carlin, 21, and Evan Stewart, 23, practiced the song they chose for their wedding performance. Then, Joy shared a cute selfie with the bride after they got their hair and makeup done. Next, Joy shared an up-close look at her wedding glam in a gorgeous selfie where the pregnant reality star’s skin was absolutely glowing.

It looks like Joy-Anna is part of Carlin’s bridal party, which makes sense since Carlin was in Joy-Anna’s bridal party when Joy married her husband, Austin Forsyth. Joy and Austin have been married for two years and they’re expecting their second child together. They’re already parents to 1-year-old son Gideon, and Joy announced that she’s pregnant with baby No. 2 on May 1.

Now, it’s Carlin’s turn to walk down the aisle! Evan popped the question to the UPtv star in September 2018 after two years of courting, and she gushed about the details his sweet destination proposal in an interview with People.

First, Evan surprised Carlin and her parents in Nashville where they were visiting Carlin’s brother, Lawson Bates, while he was recording a new song. From Nashville, Evan’s parents joined Carlin, Gil Bates and Kelly Jo Bates for a romantic trip to Portland, Maine.

On the morning of their engagement, Carlin and Evan enjoyed donuts for breakfast with their families. Then, they went on a bike ride together at the Eastern Promenade Park, where they enjoyed a picnic lunch. After that, everyone returned to their rooms to freshen up for dinner, and Evan surprised Carlin with a limo to the Portland Head Lighthouse. There, he read her a handwritten poem and they danced as a symphony musician played music. Finally, Evan got down on one knee.

“To say ‘yes’ to the man of my dreams is an opportunity that is a once in a lifetime dream come true!” Carlin told People at the time.
