Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson Reveal the Name They Chose for Baby No. 1 Following Miscarriage
Always remembered. Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson shared some exciting news with the world on May 20, revealing that she is pregnant again seven months after their devastating miscarriage. The Counting On couple paid tribute to their first child in their sweet announcement, and they also shared the beautiful name they would have given their bundle of joy — Asa.
“We are so excited to announce that baby #2 is on the the way!!!! It’s hard to fully express just how grateful we are for God blessing us again with another precious gift,” Josiah, 22, and his wife, Lauren, 20, wrote. “So, as we rejoice of the life of our second sweet baby, we also remember (balloon as symbolism) our other sweet baby, Asa, in heaven. God is so incredibly good!”
In the photos, Lauren shows off her growing baby bump while being held by Josiah. The couple was all smiles while posing for the snaps, which included a white balloon in the background. As viewers may recall, Lauren and Josiah revealed that she suffered a miscarriage back in October. The two were about to head on a trip for a friend’s wedding and noticed something was off.
“I wasn’t feeling well,” Lauren said while talking about her heartbreaking experience on the hit TLC reality show. “I was cramping really, really bad, which was quite strange because I normally don’t. I was thinking maybe I had something that had gluten in it. It was late at night and I went to use the restroom and there was the baby. Gone. I couldn’t believe it and I was hoping it wasn’t true.” After the news broke, several of their family members rallied around them in support.
Now, Josiah and Lauren are doing their best to cherish this time, while also honoring the life of their first bundle of joy. In one snap, they held up a sign which reads, “rainbow after the storm. baby #2.” Several of their loved ones are expecting right now, including Anna Duggar, Jessa Duggar, Kendra Duggar (née Caldwell), as well as Joy-Anna Duggar. The more, the merrier!
