Work Mode! Jon Gosselin Reveals Kids Hannah and Collin ‘Want to Get Jobs’
Ready to make some cash! Jon Gosselin proudly revealed that his teenage kids Hannah and Collin both have a solid work ethic and are hoping to land jobs in the near future. The reality star-turned-DJ explained how he wanted to show his children the value of responsibility while catching up with In Touch exclusively at the Victoria’s Voice event presented by the Victoria Siegel Foundation and Greenspoon Marder LLP at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
“I try to teach my kids about the world and they want to get jobs. And I’m like ‘You have to ride your bike and you have to go get a job application like I did,'” the Jon and Kate Plus 8 alum, 42, told In Touch.
“You get the job application and you bring it to me and I’ll sign it. You have to go to school and get the work permit and I’ll sign that. Like normal stuff so they want that, so they’re going to do that,” Jon continued.
Jon said that it’s an important lesson for them to learn, as it will show them how long it really takes to make a substantial living. The TLC alum also gushed over how “exciting” it is that his son Collin expressed an interest in finding a job at this point in his life. As far as what his son hopes to do, Jon said, “Grocery store. He used to work for a farmer.”
“I won’t let him work for farming in the winter because it’s very dangerous but comes harvest in the summer, no problem. Like baling and all that stuff so he’ll do that in the summer,” the TV personality further explained. “But in the winter he can work for a grocer or whatever, that’s fine.”
“Yeah, bagging, stocking. All his friends work there and stuff but he’s in JROTC at school, he loves it,” Jon concluded.
Hannah and Collin, both 15, have been living with Jon while attending high school. Last year, Jon gained custody of Hannah before also being awarded temporary sole legal and physical custody of Collin, which has allowed them to grow even closer.
Looking ahead, Jon said that Hannah and Collin will be joining him, his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, and her two children for a fun vacation over Thanksgiving break.
The father of eight didn’t reveal exactly where they will be heading, but he did confirm they will be needing passports.
