Jon Gosselin Accuses Kate of ‘Torturing’ Their Kids: ‘I Know My Children Have Suffered Abuse’
He’s breaking his silence. Jon Gosselin shockingly accused his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, of “mentally torturing” their kids in an explosive new interview, where he finally talks about their life behind closed doors. The reality star has been treading lightly when asked about their family drama up until this point, but now that his decade-long gag order has been lifted — Jon declared that it’s time for America to “find out the truth about Kate.”
Jon, 42, and Kate, 44, became household names when Jon & Kate Plus 8 debuted on the Discovery Health Channel in 2007. The exes welcomed their first two kids, twins Cara and Mady, in October 2000 and Kate later gave birth to their sextuplets — Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Joel, Aaden and Collin — via c-section in 2004. The former flames split in 2009.
Now, the TLC alum is making some jaw-dropping allegations about his ex, claiming that she’s a “militant” mother who doesn’t allow her children to be kids. “Kate is not doing the shows for her family, Kate is doing it for herself,” he said during his bombshell interview with DailyMailTV. “She’s narcissistic and selfish. That’s it. Period. All of this is for her.”
“Kate Plus 8, Kate Plus Date, it’s her name first. She always speaks for the children,” he added. “They say this, they want to do this unicorns, rainbows and look, flying pigs. It’s all lies. They all have voices.”
Jon also spoke out about the hardships their son Collin has endured, claiming he has PTSD after being sent away to a special needs institution in Philadelphia for three years. Collin was only 11 years old at the time and Jon says this was even more upsetting because their son had never been diagnosed with any medical condition other than common ADHD.
The reality star-turned-DJ claimed Collin was desperate to be reunited with his family, noting how he once received a heartfelt letter from his son written in crayon begging for help. The reality star also claimed Kate only visited Collin three times — for less than two hours in total. Jon said the alleged mistreatment didn’t stop there, addressing how Kate even “targeted” Hannah.
“I know my children have suffered abuse and I know one day they’re going to tell their own story,” Jon said, while also claiming Kate only cares about “power, control, fame and money.”
As of now, Hannah and Collin are living with Jon in Reading, Pennsylvania, as well as his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, and her daughter Jordan. Jon currently has full sole physical and legal custody of Hannah and Collin while Mady and Cara are off to college, so the other four children are living with Kate. Jon said he’s not in contact with the four kids residing with his ex and he fears she’s “poisoned” their minds against him.
On the other hand, Jon was happy to report that Collin is now an honor roll student and said he’s glad that his kids have great grades, however he did mention how they “all lack social skills” due to being on the show. ‘It’s going to be difficult because they’ve been isolated so much and they haven’t been taught those life skills,” he said.
“Kate’s all controlling, she wants to control every situation,” Jon alleged. As far as the four children living with her, “They have all said they have to film because they feel they need to provide a lifestyle for their mother. They don’t want to film. They said they have to film. That’s heartbreaking,” he continued. “Why do my kids need to provide for themselves, they’re kids.”
