A girl needs her father. Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Giudice‘s daughter Milania “is the ultimate daddy’s girl,” an insider exclusively tells In Touch, which is why his move to Italy in the midst of his deportation case has been hard on the 14-year-old.

“Being separated from Joe hasn’t been easy. She’s adjusting well though,” the source explains. “They may be miles apart, but Milania and Joe will always be close.”

Milania takes after her father, and she will always have his back. “She’s one of his biggest defenders so don’t even try talking any smack about her dad because she’ll let you have it,” the insider continues. “She has so much confidence and she credits her dad for letting her be herself.”

It looks like the feeling is mutual. “Joe loves all his daughters, but Milania holds a special spot in his heart,” the source previously told In Touch. “She has a lot of his feisty traits. She’s clearly a lot like her dad. They’ve always had a special bond.”

Joe, 47, currently resides in his native country of Italy while he awaits a verdict on his deportation case. Back in March 2019, Joe completed his 41-month prison sentence for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud. He was then transferred to ICE custody until October 2019 when a judge granted his request to return to Italy until his case was settled.

Although Milania and her sisters — Gia, 19, Gabriella, 15, and Audriana, 10 — have traveled overseas to visit their father, Joe has missed plenty of important moments back in the United States. On Sunday, February 2, Milania celebrated her birthday with friends and family in New Jersey and Joe “hated” missing out on the festivities, the source said. Despite his absence, Joe’s confident his daughter knows “how much he loves her.”

Prior to her birthday bash, the proud dad made sure to send Milania well-wishes. “You have brought such joy and happiness into our lives,” he wrote, admitting he was overcome with emotion while writing his message. “The smiles, laughter, and memories have been some of the best moments of my life! You have your own sense of humor that lights up every room you walk into and the kindest heart of anyone I have ever met. I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE, PARTNER!”
