Way to go! Jinger Duggar‘s journey to motherhood was shown during her new Counting On birth special, and the reality star’s midwife revealed how she prepared her body for delivery. Jinger got her blood bumping by walking three miles a day and doing over 100 squats.

“So she’s been doing what we like to call natural nudging,” Alisa, Jinger’s midwife explained about her temporary fitness routine. “Jinger has been taking some herbs to help her body get ready and she’s been walking and she’s been doing things to help the baby get into a good position.” The reality star revealed her strategy was “to continue with more herbs, walking and if things move along, then just going to the hospital I think and starting some inducing.”

As Jessa Duggar pointed out, her sisters usually give birth to nine or 10 pound first babies. After discussing their options, Alisa and the couple decided on the best course of action. “Jinger, Jeremy [Vuolo] and I have talked at length about trying to see if we can keep this baby’s size a little bit smaller and maybe seeing if this baby could come closer to the due date instead of going a week or two over, which is typical for the Duggar women,” Alisa said.

Jinger ended up going past her due date, like most of the girls in her family, and ditching her home birth plan since it put her mind the most at ease. The reality star eventually took Pitocin, a drug to induce labor, and it took her 18 hours to fully dilate. Jinger and Jeremy welcomed their precious baby girl, Felicity Nicole, on July 19. Fast forward to now, they’ve been sharing adorable photos of their daughter all bundled up and fans are loving every second of it!
