The girls are such troopers! Jessa Duggar addresses how most of her sisters have nine or 10 pound first babies, during TLC’s two-part birth special which aired this week. While discussing Jinger Duggar‘s delivery plan for baby Felicity, her midwife brings up a very valid point about the size/weights of the children in the Duggar brood.

“Based on the family history, some of the sisters have had a little bit of a harder time with bigger babies,” Jinger’s midwife explained. “Jinger and Jeremy and I have talked at length about trying to see if we can keep this baby’s size a little bit smaller and maybe seeing if this baby could come closer to the due date, instead of going a week or two over, which is typical for the Duggar women.” This was part of her reasoning for considering giving birth to Felicity at the hospital instead of at home, and Jinger revealed that it did put her mind at “ease.”

So how do the other first babies range in size at birth? Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsynth‘s precious baby boy Gideon takes the cake, as he weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces. Jessa’s son Spurgeon was 9 pounds, 11 ounces, and Jill Duggar‘s son Israel weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces. Even though they weren’t her first kids, Josh and Anna Duggar‘s boys Marcus and Mason came in at the nine pound range. Jill’s second son Samuel weighed 9 pounds, 10 ounces, as well.

Fans are just glad to see the Duggar girls welcoming healthy babies, no matter what size they are. Jinger clearly gave her choice some consideration, revealing on the birth special: “Some of my sisters have been through a bit of a tough time with labor and delivery. So I have decided to just go ahead and switch to the hospital,” Jinger said. She and husband Jeremy welcomed their little angel on July 19. “Felicity weighs eight pounds and three ounces,” the reality star revealed in her birth announcement, and she’s already such a little star!
