It Looks Like Pregnant Jinger Duggar Dyed Her Hair and Fans Are Seriously Concerned
Tsk, tsk, Jinger Duggar. Despite the fact that the former reality star is a whopping 38 weeks pregnant, it seems she’s still unaware of all the mommy-prep do's and don’ts. So much so, that fans are calling Jinger out for seemingly dying her hair while pregnant.
On July 2, the mother-to-be took to Instagram to share a ~double date~ snapshot with her husband Jeremy Vuolo, her brother John David, and John David’s new girlfriend Abbie Grace. While we can’t deny that Jinger looks positively glowing, we couldn’t help but notice something different about her hair — she appears to have highlights.
Naturally, fans were freaking out, and sadly for Jinger, it wasn’t because she looked so good. Her new 'do sparked a major debate in the comments over whether using hair dye during pregnancy is safe for the fetus and needless to say, there were heated arguments on both sides of the fence.
"I’m a licensed cosmetologist and coloring is fine. We do recommend holding off [on] the bleach [until you’re] done with pregnancy, but it’s really to each his own!" one fan commented. "[The Duggars] have midwives instead of doctors, so maybe they don’t know coloring your hair is not safe while pregnant," wrote another.
According to the American Pregnancy Association, "most research indicates the chemicals found in both semi-permanent and permanent dyes are not highly toxic and are safe to use during pregnancy. In addition, only small amounts of hair dye may be absorbed by the skin, leaving little that would be able to reach the fetus."
Whether you’re fan of Jinger’s hair or not, we hope the rest of her pregnancy goes smoothly. We can’t wait to meet the newest member of the Vuolo family soon enough!
