We know that the Duggars love to be thrifty — buy used and save the difference and all that — but Jill Duggar seems to have taken things to the extreme with her son’s new toy. The former reality star set her youngest, Samuel, up with a new plaything, and it is literally just a cardboard box and some cards. No fancy tricks, not a decorated box, just an old container of Keurig K-cups that had been emptied out. But Sam doesn’t seem to mind a bit. In fact, he seems pretty into his cards and recyclables. Watch the video above to see Sam’s new toy and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel.

In the caption, Jill also thanked an Instagram account called @busytoddler for the idea. @busytoddler is a mom named Susie who, according to her bio, is “just trying to make it to nap time each day” by coming up with “easy activities that keep [her] kids (& [her]) entertained.” The “sort & drop” box is one she came up with back at the end of August. Her version is a little more complicated for her toddler who is three-and-a-half-years-old, requiring her to sort different colored papers into different colored slots, but Jill clearly kept things simple for Sam.

It’s clear the Duggar daughter loved how thrifty the idea was — and the fact that she probably had all the necessary supplies already on hand. Fans thought the whole thing was pretty brilliant, too. “I’m going to have to steal this idea! Thanks!!!!!” one of Jill’s followers wrote in the comments. “Well thank YOU for the recommendation!” added another. “Great idea. My 18-month-old is currently taking apart the vacuum so I need some ideas in my arsenal of busy activities.”

Hey, if it ain’t broke, why fix it? And if a cardboard box will do, why hit up the toy store — or even the thrift store — for something new? We’re just glad that Sam is having fun with his game. Maybe that means he’ll stop climbing all over tables and actually keep his feet on the floor for once.
