All we want for Christmas is for Jill Duggar to make a good meal! The former Counting On star — who was fired from her family’s hit TV show thanks to her husband, Derick Dillard — is notorious for making “God awful” dishes, and her latest recipe is no different. Jill took to Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 22, to share Gurel Chicken Tortilla Soup, and fans slammed her for all the canned ingredients. Big surprise, huh?

“New recipe! *Swipe up in my story or click the link in my bio!* www.dillardfamily.com,” she captioned the video.

On the family blog, Jill elaborated further on the dish and wrote, “Our friends, the Gurels, made this soup for us once and it was such a favorite, that we got the recipe and have been making it ever since!” she explained. “It is a super easy soup to throw together and easy to change up for small or large groups. The amazing flavor comes from the cilantro and lime juice, so be sure not to skimp on those ingredients!”

Although we’re proud of her for using a fresh herb, people were legit appalled by everything else. “Too many ingredients from a can,” one person wrote. “But then [again], Jill wouldn’t know a fresh vegetable if it fell on her!” Another added, “If by ‘recipes’ you mean mixing different kind of canned soups together…” while a third chimed in, “She, unfortunately, was raised on canned goods… she might want to look into making them with fresh ingredients…”

Sigh. Let’s take a look at what’s in there, shall we?

4 (15 oz.) cans diced tomatoes

2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce

3-4 (15 oz.) cans beans (different kinds for a variety in color and flavor…black, pinto, etc.)

3 chicken breasts, cooked, cubed

1 bag (10 oz.) frozen corn

1 bunch fresh cilantro, washed, finely chopped*

1/4-1/2 cup lime juice (I usually taste test and if using freshly squeezed limes with pulp, you may use the lesser amount)

Welp, sounds pretty boring if you ask us. And when your own sister seemingly shades your love of cans, you know it’s gotten pretty bad. Here’s to hoping Santa leaves a recipe book under her non-existent tree!
