Stop the presses, y’all! On Aug. 8, Jill Duggar took to Instagram to reveal the unthinkable: One of her recipes includes fresh vegetables. Gasp. Now, if you’re someone who has been following Jill’s culinary train wreck from day one, then you know how monumental this moment is. Until less than 24 hours ago, we were under the impression that the mother-of-two prepared food solely from a can

“Enjoying a super tasty salad with Voeller Salad Dressing recipe,” Jill wrote before plugging her family’s blog. “Anyone else feel like a rabbit? We [love] fruits and veggies!!” the former Counting On star added.

Despite the fact that this was a big step for Jill, fans were not impressed. “My daily salad usually has 10 plus ingredients and the dressing is just a splash of oil and a vinegar. This salad of Jill’s is so boring,” one fan/salad aficionado commented. “Since when is a bowl of lettuce a salad? Where are all the veggies, nuts, and seeds? I get it though. Jill grew up eating cheap boxed meals, so she’s not familiar with fresh meals,” added another apparent expert on salad.

To be fair, the salad did look a little bland but hey — baby steps, people! Thankfully, there was a handful of Jill supporters ready and willing to defend the not-so-top-chef. “You should do a cooking show. I know people would watch,” one very sweet fan commented. “Looks so yummy, Jill! Thanks for the recipe,” added another.

Keep doing your thing, Jill. Don’t let the haters bring you down but more importantly, don’t let this stop you from using fresh ingredients ever again, please.
